I've been teaching Nordic Walking for over 10 years and love how it amps up a regular walk. You engage so many more muscle groups compared to regular walking.
You can also reach a higher intensity of cardio - up to 18% to 67% of walking.
It's also great because it's lower impact on your joints. Whether you're wanting to change up your routine or just enjoy being outside, it's worth trying.

It's rather curious, isn't it? Many of us spend all day at work in a seated, hunched position, only to head to the gym and continue the trend—bent over stationary bikes, shouldering through rowing sessions, or jogging on treadmills with heads bowed, eyes glued to screens.
I often quip that it's like we're going to the gym just to 'work on our hump.'

Bring your own poles and get ready for a scenic loop around the bridle path. Please ensure you have a strong Nordic Walking technique and good stamina, as well as being injury-free.
Your comfort and safety are our top priorities. Please note that this is not a class, and there will be no formal instruction or coaching provided. Participants are responsible for gauging their comfort levels and ensuring their own safety during the walk.
After our invigorating walk, we'll head over to the Great Lawn to enjoy the NY Philharmonic Orchestra and fireworks.

🌟 Flashback to an amazing event in 2019 with our HYVA Nordic Walking crew!
Had a blast catching up with JCC Members and sharing some laughs.
🚶♂️💬 Everyone was intrigued by the poles. So many people asked “Is it skiing”?
After I explained we don’t need skis (or snow) they were intrigued to learn about the countless benefits Nordic Walking offers as an outdoor exercise.

American Heart Association “currently recommends 150 minutes of moderate-intensity or 75 minutes of high-intensity aerobic exercise per week or a combination.”
A study published in teh Canadian Journal of Cardiology, showed that Nordic Walking had more benefits than high-intensity interval training program (HIIT) or moderate-to-vigorous intensity training program.
