LOWER EAST SIDE, WE HAVE SOME EXCITING NEWS

We’re excited to announce that we have been selected to provide Neighborhood Youth Sports & Education to youth in the Lower East Side community!

Starting this month, Manhattan FC is proud to offer a FREE after-school program at East River Park’s Mini Field with support from and

Youth (ages 8-17) will learn soccer skills while exploring leadership and career pathways in sports such as photography, videography, broadcasting, officiating, administration and more.

We all see what’s happening across the US right now. It was only a matter of time before it reached our doorstep.

We’ve been informed that two footballers were recently detained by ICE at Pier 40, one of NYC’s most well-known pickup spaces. They were ultimately released because they had support. Many people in our community do not have that same protection.

It should go without saying: New York City is built by immigrants. Our diversity is our strength, and attacks on any part of our community are attacks on all of us. Right now, members of our community are living in fear. Fear for themselves, for their families, for simply showing up to public spaces and contributing to society.

Knowing your rights is essential, no matter your immigration status.

NEW LEAGUE ANNOUNCEMENT

We’re excited to announce the return of our 5v5 Men’s League next month, alongside our 5v5 Coed League. Both leagues will take place at PS 145 on the Upper West Side, starting in January.
