Unfortunately this year’s Lake Superior Performance Rally (LSPR) didn’t go as planned☹️
It started with testing at new Piotr Fetela place, after couple of runs Piotr took us around his new property. Super cool place with a lot of potential for the future👍
After parc expose it was time to start the stages, about mile into the first stage we came in a little too wide to R5- hit pile of dirt on the side which sent us onto other side of the road. We stopped on the steep embankment and after a second, the car rolled over driver’s side onto the roof and blocked the stage.
We both jumped out immediately and had to stop coming cars.
After some time we were able to push the car back on the wheels and free up the stage, too much time passed and organizers decided to transit this stage. We joined in mid pack and finished the rest of the stages for that day. While doing that we managed to post some good times, even winning few stages in our class.
Unfortunately #2 while we were flipping the car back on the wheels my left foot got trapped under. It hurt a lot but I decided not to take my shoe off while on the stage. After the day was done and adrenaline started to wear off it was time to assess the damage, it was a little bit too much to leave it alone. Me and Aris decided that I should probably go to ER to have it checked, after spending whole night there and finding out that I have fractured toe we decided not to run second day and withdraw.
I went back home as soon as I could and getting an appointment to orthopedic surgeon to discuss possible surgery for reconstruction of the toe.
Weekend started good but quickly went to bad, but this is rally racing and we love it. Time to heal up and start planning next year’s season.

Few more days and we are leaving for Lake Superior Performance Rally (LSPR)
Last time we raced there was in 2018 and it was a tough event with that wintery weather, hoping for much warmer and dryer conditions this time. Really excited to see what the new car can do on those beautiful Michigan stages.

Review video of our first event by Chris Meegan from

Here’s the photo story of our new car from the day it was picked up to a day we run first stages.
#1 Decided to rescue ex @davidsterckx car that was sitting in friend’s garage in Chicago collecting dust. As soon as I saw the car with @prodriveofficial WRC wide body I got super excited.
#2 Old vinyl removed, we are going over everything and making a plan of what we want to do. Decision was made to strip the car completely and build it as NA H6 beast😁 @limsport will work on custom front so we can easily install and service the 6 cylinder engine.
#3 Work on adding all custom mounting points started. We moved both seats back, relocated @samsonasmotorsport_official shifter to most optimal location.
#4 After all extra fabrication was done, car was stripped to bare shell and sent to a special oven where all old paint and adhesive were melted so we can basically have brand new caged shell.
#5 This is after whole car was powder coated for best durability, and now it’s ready for full assembly. Nothing looks better that a brand new, fresh smelling rally car😍
#6 When we decided to build H6 powered rally car I reached out to our friends at @rallispec if they are interested to jump onboard. We came up with the plan what can be done and work started right away. This is @vincebuilt table as he’s putting all the parts together.
#7 It starting to look like a rally car, just few more items to put together to put it on the wheels. Guys at @pmrmotorsports doing great and super clean work here.
#8 It runs!!! First time driving this car, super excited😎
Photo #9 After super cool design by @sdl.studio_design it was time for a wrap. We were pushing to make the car ready for its first event @100acrewood_rally that was at this point a week away. Crew from @fortuna_visual_group worked 24hr straight to make sure we are good to go.
#10 We made it to our first event by @ara_rally in Missouri. Right away me and @aropedo fell in love how the car drives which gave us super confidence to push from the start. Right from the first stage we were leading the NA4WD class and posted overall times in first 10, super happy with such a results after over 2 years of not driving on the stages. 09/28/2021
