Sticks and Stone Lacrosse

I would like to congratulate the recipients of the 2023-24 Sticks And Stone Lacrosse Scholarship. Joseph and Jeffrey Santana joined our after-school and summer camp programs at PS/IT180(is it IS?) in Harlem in 2011. Both boys played lacrosse from 3rd grade through 8th grade in the program before moving on to Cardinal Hayes. These young men developed into scholar athletes and now both play lacrosse at College of Mount Saint Vincent! We are incredibly proud of Jeffrey and Joseph and(on) their achievements! Both will receive a $1,000 scholarship funded by your donations! Thank you!

We are so proud to announce that our 2022 Sticks And Stone Lacrosse Scholarship winner Koyan Kone has graduated Summa Cum Laude with a degree in Human Biology from Hunter College! I had the honor of coaching Koyan from 3rd grade through 8th grade and I was even luckier to be her teacher in 5th, 7th and 8th grades! Koyan is an amazing young woman and we are so proud of her! We are so proud to announce that the 2022 recipient of the Sticks and Stone Lacrosse $1,000 scholarship is Koyan Kone!!!! Koyan started playing lacrosse in 4th grade and continued through 8th grade at PS/MS180. Over the years, it was amazing to see Koyan's self-confidence grow during her time playing lacrosse, as well as through her hard work in the classroom! Currently, Koyan is studying Human Biology at Hunter College with big plans to become a physical therapist. It should be noted that it has been a decade in the making, but Koyan got me to try oxtail, and it lived up to the hype! Congratulations Koyan! It has been an honor to be your coach and your teacher!

UPDATE: We are extending the application deadline to Friday 5/20/22 at 11:59pm. We want to allow for as many applicants as possible. This is a $1000 scholarship! We are so proud to share that this past weekend, our 2021 Sticks And Stone Lacrosse Scholarship Recipient, Taj Alston graduated Magna Cum Laude from Howard University!!!! We can't wait for her to go out and conquer the world!!!

Yesterday I had the chance to watch Joe Santana score twice for the College of Mount Saint Vincent Dolphins as they came back to win in overtime! Joe started with us in 3rd grade and next year his brother Jeffrey will be join him on the field! So proud! Some pics are from yesterday, others are yesteryear….see if you can tell the difference!
