Tersia Serrada Rapilon - TSR Kali

Saturday May 30th TSR Kali will be begin a monthly FMA class at Apicha Community Health Center in Jackson Heights, Queens.

This class will be held on the last Saturday of each month from May to July.

Although the combat and self-defense applications of FMA will be addressed, the primary focus of this class will be on exercise and movement to help address health issues within the Filipino community.

This event is free and open to those 18 years old and above.

On Sunday March 22, 2026 TSR Kali hosted a Lightning Scientific Arnis seminar with Master Sachi Villareal of Lightning Alliance. This seminar was to commemorate the birth of Lightning Scientific Arnis founder Grandmaster Benjamin Luna Lema (1919-2003) fondly known as Mang Ben. As practitioners of Lightning Scientific it was a great honor to host someone who not only learned directly from the late grandmaster but also called Mang Ben lolo (grandfather).

Lightning Scientific Arnis is an integral part of TSR Kali’s curriculum. With many of the attendees being students of our school Master Sachi was able to explain and demonstrate the nuances of his grandfather’s art. When asked about the seminar both student and instructors were excited to have a better understanding of this beautiful and brutal FMA system.

TSR Kali would like to thank Master Sachi for taking the time to come to our school and share his knowledge with all of us. We would also like to thank all those who attended and supported Master Sachi, TSR Kali, and FMA.

March 19, 1919 marks the birth of Benjamin Luna Lema, founder of Lightning Scientific Arnis. To commemorate this day TSR Kali will be holding a Lightning Scientific Arnis seminar with Master Sachi Villareal on Sunday March 22nd.

Maestro Sachi started his journey in Filipino Martial Arts with his father at age 7. At 11 he started to train Lightning Scientific Arnis under Master Herman Licanto and Master Carlito Ondillo of Capiz. At 12 he formally started training with his lolo (grandfather), Grandmaster Ben Lema. By age 16 he won several tournaments, received his black belt from Mang Ben, and became the youngest instructor of LSAI Capiz where he coached arnisadors for competition. He continued to compete and teach while attending university in Manila.

Presently he resides in New Jersey where he continues spreading the art of his grandfather under Lightning Alliance.

Learn the fundamentals of FMA with TSR Kali! There will be 2 classes; one for youth and the other for teens and adults.

While on tour with , Manong Boo was able to take a Silat class at Pamana Kali with G**o Ma’afu (not pictured). Afterwards he was able to spend some time with Pamana Kali founder G**o Alvin Catacutan (.alvin.catacutan ).

G**o Alvin is a great promoter of Filipino Martial Arts, and Filipino culture. His staff is generous with their knowledge and patient with their students. Thank you for welcoming our student into your school and allowing them to learn from you.
