A view from one of my favorite secret spots in Brooklyn. Reminds me that PERSPECTIVE is everything. A growth mindset allowed me to weather the storms of 2020 because it allowed me to view challenges as opportunities and setbacks as learnings. My mind constantly sought out the best view. And what a view it is... If you want help adopting a growth mindset next year, shoot me a message.

The most popular article I wrote this year was about...ME! I pushed past the fear and shared some truths about what I learned from changing jobs and careers so much over the last 15 years. The best part? It really seemed to resonate with people. Finally, you weren't alone in your feelings. I'm glad that sharing my story could make such a difference to so many people. The highlight of my year for sure!⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Just relaxing before I start a massive baking spree. My Rosemary & Thyme rolls were a hit at Thanksgiving and thus their presence was requested again for Christmas dinner. I'm also thinking about attempting to make a Chocolate Babka. And maybe I'll throw in some mac 'n cheese. My favorite parts of the meal are the sides and the dessert lol.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

What's on your menu for this scaled-down holiday?

Remember when I said I got to collaborate with my best friend? Well this article was a result of a collaboration this summer to research best practices around managing remote teams. I wrote an article about it after and it has blown up in terms of popularity over the last few weeks, even though I published it this summer. By the end of the month it could even take over the top spot. But for now, let's leave it at #2. Learn more about how to manage your remote team effectively!⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

2020 was the year I went even deeper into exploration of my relationship with my own identity. In this article, I shared for the first time my experience with microaggressions such as "What are you"? If you don't understand what a microaggression is or why asking me "what are you" is offensive, then I encourage you to read this article ASAP! The only way to become anti-racist is to start by challenging ourselves and our thinking. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

How many hours per week do you tend to work on average? The biggest change I've noticed since working for myself is that I no longer have anxiety at night and on the weekends. There aren't many "urgent" messages I receive after hours, so I don't feel like I am constantly on-call like when I used to work in Operations. It's so freeing to be able to be present, in the moment, and tech free at times during the weekend. How do you feel about your own work schedule right now?

I'm thinking about making some apple pie, crisp, or cobbler this weekend. 1) What's the difference between those? and 2) Which do you like best?⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Happy Chanukah to all and to all a good eight nights! One of the perks of having a parent who is Jewish and a parent who is Catholic is that my December was always filled with LOTS of gifts. . Maybe that’s why one of my love languages is gifting lol? What were some of your favorite Chanukah traditions in your house growing up?
