👀 Stephen A. Smith wanted Baltimore to forget about one October game and think about Lamar Jackson’s entire season.

Jackson suffered a left ankle sprain in Baltimore’s Week 4 victory over Tennessee and missed the following overtime win against Atlanta. With the Ravens sitting 4-1, Smith argued there was simply no reason to rush the two-time MVP back against Cleveland. I don’t think he should play,” Smith said, arguing the Ravens should get Jackson fully healthy for the most important part of the schedule rather than risk aggravating the injury. Baltimore ultimately agreed. Coach Jesse Minter ruled Jackson out for Week 6, leaving Tyler Huntley to make another start. Huntley had already helped Baltimore survive Jackson’s first absence with 201 passing yards and three total touchdowns against Atlanta. JJ Redick surprised Doncic in front of teammates by presenting him with the NBA’s Handle of the Year award for a spectacular 2025-26 play against Utah. Doncic intercepted a pass, nutmegged Kevin Love and then created an alley-oop finish for Jaxson Hayes.
His teammates loved the presentation, even playfully demanding a speech.
The celebration came shortly after the NBA’s annual general manager survey delivered a much colder verdict. Doncic reportedly received zero votes to win the 2026-27 MVP, while Victor Wembanyama dominated the voting. The Lakers also received no championship votes and were projected around sixth in the Western Conference.
That creates a fascinating season storyline: Luka has individual brilliance, but executives clearly question the Lakers’ ceiling.

💰 The Miami Dolphins may be struggling on the field, but their value continues moving in the opposite direction.

Owner Stephen Ross has reportedly agreed to sell a 2.1% minority stake in the Dolphins and affiliated businesses to billionaire Jean Eric Salata at a valuation slightly above $12.5 billion. The transaction would establish a new high-water mark for an NFL minority-stake valuation.
And this isn’t only about the football team.
The deal reportedly includes interests tied to Hard Rock Stadium, the Formula 1 Miami Grand Prix and the Miami Open tennis tournament.
Ross has steadily sold small portions of the organization while maintaining control. In 2024, transactions valued the group around $8.1 billion, showing how dramatically its estimated worth has climbed in only two years.
NFL owners are expected to review the latest sale.

😂 Being Shaquille O’Neal’s son came with one surprisingly difficult problem: apparently, Shareef couldn’t win no matter what shoes he wore.

During an appearance on the Silver Spoons podcast, Shareef admitted he wasn’t actually a huge fan of his father’s signature sneakers growing up. His reason had less to do with the shoes themselves and more to do with the teasing surrounding them.
If he wore Shaqs, classmates mocked him for wearing his dad’s shoes.
If he wore Jordans instead, people asked why Shaq’s son wasn’t supporting his father.
“I couldn’t win,” Shareef explained.
It’s a small example of the unusual pressure that comes with being the child of an all-time great athlete. Shareef was constantly compared to Shaq in basketball, and even his sneaker choices became part of the public conversation.
Ironically, Shareef is now involved around Reebok and the SHAQ Brand business.

😳 Jayden Daniels had a chance to win the game for Washington — and one disastrous clock-management mistake left him apologizing to the entire locker room.

The Commanders were inside Giants territory late in overtime with no timeouts remaining. Instead of stopping the clock and setting up a field-goal attempt, Washington ran another play, Daniels was brought down, and time expired in a 27-27 tie.
Daniels later told reporters that he addressed his teammates personally and accepted responsibility.
“Ultimately, it’s on me,” he said, while also defending head coach Dan Quinn from some of the criticism. Daniels admitted he failed to meet the standard he sets for himself and promised teammates that a lapse like that would not happen again.
Quinn and offensive coordinator David Blough have also accepted blame, showing the failure wasn’t on one person alone.

👀 Sean McDermott has noticed something different about Bo Nix this season — and it’s not necessarily a compliment.

The Bills coach recently discussed Denver’s quarterback on The Rich Eisen Show, saying he has seen more indecisiveness from Nix compared with the competitive, aggressive player Buffalo faced previously. McDermott also noted that Nix has worked with different play-callers, which could be contributing to the inconsistency.
Perhaps most interestingly, McDermott said he has noticed Nix sitting on the bench looking more relaxed or detached at times.
That doesn’t mean McDermott is predicting a benching. In fact, he also emphasized that Nix still has talent and “game.”
But Denver expected another step forward in Year 3, not more uncertainty.
Quarterbacks often receive disproportionate blame when offenses struggle, especially when coaching changes affect timing and confidence.
Is Bo Nix truly regressing this season? Or do the Broncos need more stability around him before judging his development?
