😂 Aaron Rodgers apparently didn’t always need to yell at teammates when they made mistakes — sometimes one look was enough.
Former Packers running back Jamaal Williams recently described what he called the dreaded Rodgers stare. Williams said playing alongside the veteran quarterback forced teammates to know exactly what they were doing because nobody wanted to receive the look that basically communicated, “you messed up.”
Rodgers built much of his career on precision.
Receivers and backs frequently had to understand adjustments at the line, recognize defenses the same way Rodgers did and be prepared for throws that might differ from the original play design. Missing one of those reads could quickly produce that famous reaction.
Williams didn’t present it as hatred or toxic leadership. Instead, he described Rodgers as so influential that teammates naturally wanted to meet his expectations.
Considering Rodgers’ reputation for demanding offensive perfection, the story feels perfectly believable.

😂 Victor Wembanyama is rated 97 overall in NBA 2K27 — and somehow he still found one number that offended him.
Wembanyama is tied with Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Nikola Jokic at the very top of the game’s ratings. He also carries a 99 block rating and 97 interior defense, matching his reputation as one of basketball’s most terrifying defenders.
Then Ronnie 2K revealed his agility rating: 69.
Wemby’s reaction was immediate. He called the number “egregious,” and it’s easy to understand why. At 7-foot-4, one of the qualities separating Wembanyama from almost every giant before him is how fluidly he moves. He also questioned his 69 passing vision and believed his 78 perimeter-defense rating should be higher.
For someone already rated 97, Wemby clearly isn’t satisfied with simply being near the top.

💔 Pat Mahomes Sr. shared a deeply personal remembrance this week — and fans quickly surrounded the Mahomes family with support.

Patrick Mahomes’ father marked five years since the death of his mother, Cindy Mahomes, who passed away in 2021 at age 68. He shared family photos and reflected on how quickly the years had passed, saying he still misses and loves her while imagining her watching over the family.
Cindy was Patrick’s paternal grandmother and remained an important figure in the family long before her grandson became one of football’s biggest stars.
Fans responded with condolences, prayers and messages remembering how difficult anniversaries can be even years after someone is gone.

Their daughter Zhuri recently started sixth grade, and Savannah admitted the milestone brought tears. She said she was incredibly proud watching her daughter grow into a young woman before sending one simple message: “Go be great Baby!”

🔥 Caleb Williams hasn’t stopped having fun — but Ben Johnson believes something important has changed underneath the personality.

Williams admitted he’ll always laugh, joke and be “goofy,” yet says his maturity has grown as he better understands what being the Bears’ franchise quarterback requires. Johnson backed that up, praising the pride Williams has taken in his preparation and approach entering Year 3.
The results are giving Chicago reason for optimism.
Williams threw for 3,942 yards and 27 touchdowns last season as the Bears reached the playoffs and captured the NFC North. Now expectations are significantly higher as Chicago tries to prove that breakthrough wasn’t temporary.
Johnson doesn’t appear interested in removing Williams’ personality. The goal is getting the same confident quarterback with sharper preparation, leadership and attention to detail.

LeBron recently shared an emotional message reminding his sons that they should never hesitate to tell him when they’re struggling. He emphasized that even during his hardest days, he will always show up for them. The timing comes as Bronny enters an important stage of his Lakers career, where development must eventually turn into consistent production.
Bronny has already overcome enormous adversity, including his 2023 cardiac arrest, but basketball expectations are now different. JJ Redick has previously emphasized defensive pressure, attacking downhill and dependable decision-making as ways Bronny can earn minutes.
Meanwhile, younger brother Bryce has more developmental runway in college.
LeBron can provide unlimited support, but NBA rotation spots still have to be earned.

😳 What would Shedeur Sanders need to beat Deshaun Watson for Cleveland’s starting job? According to LeSean McCoy, even Lamar Jackson-level talent might not have guaranteed it immediately.

The former All-Pro running back discussed a hypothetical in which Sanders possessed the explosiveness of Lamar Jackson, Cam Newton or another elite dual-threat quarterback. McCoy said he still believes Cleveland would have given Watson the first opportunity — although Watson’s leash would have become dramatically shorter.
Cleveland has named Watson its starter, saying the veteran gives the offense its best chance to move the ball and score. The Browns have also emphasized that Sanders remains part of their future rather than treating the decision as a week-to-week competition.
McCoy’s larger point was that organizational investment and veteran experience were always going to matter.
He also praised Sanders’ actual quarterback play, saying he looks good when given opportunities.

🔥 Steve Kerr owns four Warriors championships — but Joe Johnson says people shouldn’t forget who helped build the foundation before him.

Appearing on Nightcap, Johnson backed Kenny Smith’s argument that Mark Jackson played a major role in developing Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson and Draymond Green. Johnson compared Jackson’s tenure to someone warming up a casino machine before Kerr arrived and “hit the damn jackpot.”
There’s some evidence behind the argument.
Golden State went from 23 wins before Jackson’s arrival to 47 wins in his first season, then reached the playoffs in consecutive years while significantly improving defensively. Jackson also trusted Curry as the franchise centerpiece while helping young Thompson and Green establish themselves.
Then Kerr arrived in 2014, won 67 games immediately and transformed that foundation into one of basketball’s greatest dynasties.
So maybe both coaches deserve substantial credit — just for different stages.

👀 The Lakers missed out on Jonathan Kuminga, and now another former No. 1 pick is being mentioned as a possible gamble.

Ben Simmons is attempting an NBA comeback after missing the entire 2025-26 season while dealing with back and nerve issues. He has trained with Australia’s national-team program and reportedly attracted interest from multiple NBA clubs.
But longtime Lakers analysts Trevor Lane and Pete Zayas aren’t convinced Los Angeles should rush into anything.
Their concerns are roster spots, shooting and positional overlap. The Lakers already have several defensive wings, and using the final roster spot on Simmons could remove flexibility to pursue a more useful player through the midseason buyout market. They also believe the team needs a legitimate reserve center more urgently.
There is intrigue if Simmons can rediscover the elite defense and playmaking that once made him a three-time All-Star — especially on a minimum contract.

🔥 Matthew Stafford just produced an MVP season — and NFL players still ranked Josh Allen above him.
Stafford landed at No. 4 on the NFL’s Top 100 Players of 2026 after throwing for 4,707 yards, 46 touchdowns and only eight interceptions last season. Yet Allen finished as the highest-ranked quarterback on the player-voted list, immediately setting off another huge debate.
Rams fans understandably aren’t thrilled.
Stafford’s 2025 season was statistically superior in several major passing categories, while Allen finished with 3,668 yards and 25 touchdowns. But this list isn’t strictly based on statistics. Players vote based on reputation, impact, difficulty to defend and their own view of who the league’s best players are.
Allen’s dual-threat ability and recent MVP résumé clearly continue commanding enormous respect around the NFL.
Still, ranking him above the reigning MVP guarantees controversy.
