New global research shared at Frankfurter Buchmesse found that 34% of people surveyed listened to more audiobooks this year than last year, and we love to hear it!

As access expands and listening becomes easier to build into everyday life, more readers are making room for audiobooks alongside the other formats they already use.

Audiobooks are going global in a much bigger way.

Spotify has announced it will expand audiobook access from 22 markets to more than 180 by the end of the year, opening the format to hundreds of millions of additional listeners worldwide. That means more markets, more languages, and more opportunities for authors, narrators, and publishers to reach listeners well beyond their existing audiences.

We love to see the market grow and can't wait to see what's next.

National Friends of Libraries Week celebrates the volunteer groups that fundraise, advocate, build awareness, and help libraries expand the programs and resources they can offer their communities.

In addition to the incredible programs, educational opportunities, and community spaces they provide, libraries remain one of the most important ways people discover and access audio, often making it easier to try new authors, explore new genres, and keep listening without adding another subscription.

For some readers, the biggest benefit of audiobooks is access.

A recent Times piece follows an 11-year-old with dyslexia who had struggled to independently read books that matched her age and interests. Audiobooks changed that, giving her a way into longer stories, richer vocabulary, and books she actually wanted to spend time with.

Audiobooks can help readers stay connected to stories while other literacy skills are still developing, and make sure difficulty decoding text does not also mean missing out on the books everyone else is talking about.

Demand for dramatized audiobooks is growing fast. USA Today recently reported that interest in GraphicAudio titles nearly tripled between 2023 and 2025, as publishers continue investing in productions with larger casts, stronger sound design, and more cinematic storytelling.

This shift is interesting for the industry. For some listeners, narration alone is the draw. For others, a more immersive production adds something different to the experience.

Either way, the range of what listeners can choose from keeps widening, and we love seeing variety bring in more listeners.

The Witcher is getting a new way to listen.

The first full-cast edition, Crossroads of Ravens, is out now, with more titles in the series to follow. These new productions join the existing single-narrator editions performed by Peter Kenny, giving fans another way to experience the world of Geralt.

And honestly, we love having options! Some listeners want one narrator to carry the whole story, while others love hearing a full cast bring each character to life.

Audie winner Kate McKinnon stopped by The View this week to talk with fellow Audie winner Whoopi Goldberg about The Jungle of Carabanana, the final book in McKinnon's series. The conversation soon turned to audiobooks, narration, and "reading 𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘺 word."

We always love hearing people talk about the craft behind the mic, especially from an author and narrator whose first two books both took home Audies.
