Calling all dancers ages 9 to 17. Join us for this year’s HSA Summer Dance Intensive. This year’s Intensive is a ballet and modern based program for students with at least two years of consistent training. Ballet and pointe classes will be a part of the daily curriculum. To complement the ballet focus, the intensive will also offer Contemporary, Horton Technique, Jazz, Lindy Hop, Hip-Hop and more. Additionally, in celebration of our partnership with the Radio City Rockettes, we will present precision technique classes led by a member of the Radio City Rockettes. The intensive will conclude with our Summer Blaze Concert on August 21 at 5:30 PM. Join us for an exciting summer filled with passion, growth, and artistry!

Congratulations to our incredible students who took the stage at this year’s Curtains Up Broadway Gala at the iconic Ziegfeld Ballroom! With over 60 talented performers showcasing their skills, it was a night filled with passion, talent, and unforgettable moments.
From the soaring vocals to the captivating choreography, each performance highlighted the hard work and dedication our students have put into their craft. We are so proud of each and every one of you for your stunning contributions to the arts! A huge thank you to our directors, teaching artists, and everyone behind the scenes who made this event possible. Let’s continue to celebrate and support our aspiring performers!

Congratulations to members from our daytime training program who recently performed at the Schomburg Museum in their newest exhibit titled “Uncover and Reveal”. This exhibition showcases, over 100 rare items from Puerto Rican bibliophile Arturo Schomburg’s original “seed collection”. Our dancers performed a work by Artistic Director, Leyland Simmons titled “A Hymn for Schomburg.” Way to go everyone keep shining!!!!

Last week, we took our Junior Ensemble dancers on an unforgettable trip to the Youth American Grand Prix Gala at Lincoln Center! The experience was nothing short of inspiring. We can’t wait to see how this experience influences their artistry and growth.

Congratulations to our Teen Dance Ensemble members who participated in the “We Got That Swing” International Jazz Day performance sponsored by the Jazz Power Initiative in a new work by Jude Evans!
Also, a special shout-out to those who attended the Latin Jazz workshop with Sekou Miller. We can’t wait for next year’s International Jazz Day.
