Two small habits turn a good squat into body damage!
Arching your lower back on the way down dumps the load straight into your lumbar spine and compresses the joints that were meant to stay stacked and supported, and over enough reps that becomes the ache that never quite leaves.
Lifting your chin compresses the back of your neck, and since your neck is just the top of your spine, that pinch travels all the way down.
Keep your spine long, hinge from your hips, and let your head rest right on top of your spine so your gaze lowers as you go.
