A TikTok trend featuring mothers crying while holding their children and reading excerpts from Lindsay Clancy’s writings has ignited a heated debate over postpartum mental health, social-media boundaries, and where empathy should end.

Clancy admitted to killing her three children—Cora, 5, Dawson, 3, and Callan, 8 months—in 2023. Her defense argued that she was suffering from severe postpartum psychosis and was not criminally responsible. Prosecutors disputed that account.

The case ended in a mistrial on September 4 after the jury repeatedly failed to reach a unanimous verdict.

The “Same, Lindsay” videos have drawn criticism from people who believe they risk blurring the line between discussing maternal mental illness and appearing to identify with the killing of children. Others say the videos are intended to highlight how frightening postpartum mental-health struggles can be and encourage mothers to seek help.

That distinction matters. Experiencing frightening or intrusive thoughts after childbirth does not mean someone will act on them, and mental-health professionals have warned that stigma can discourage mothers from seeking treatment.

The challenge for social media is finding the line between raising awareness and normalizing dangerous behavior.

Whatever Congress decides, Americans deserve an election system that is secure, accessible, and trusted by the public.

The legal battle is far from over—but for now, the new USPS mail-ballot requirements remain blocked for the midterms.

President Donald Trump recently said Canada is the toughest country for the United States to negotiate with on trade, arguing that Washington has been taken advantage of by Ottawa for years.

How far can the U.S.-Canada trade conflict go before the economic and security partnership itself begins to suffer?

Trump’s characterization has drawn criticism from people who argue that the human cost cannot be dismissed simply by comparing casualty numbers with larger historical wars.

For the families of the 18 service members who died, there is nothing “small” about the loss.

ICE agents didn’t create the immigration backlog they’re now being asked to address. The Biden administration’s border and immigration policies—including expanded parole and reduced use of some prior deterrence measures—contributed to record levels of encounters and a massive enforcement challenge.

Now, agents are tasked with locating, arresting, and removing people who entered or remained in the country under those policies.

Blaming law enforcement for carrying out federal immigration laws misses the bigger question: Who made the policies that created the backlog in the first place?

Border security is both a national-security issue and a taxpayer issue. Americans deserve a system with secure borders, effective interior enforcement, and clear rules that are consistently applied.

Hold policymakers accountable. Support the officers tasked with enforcing the law. 🇺🇸

🚨 ACCOUNTABILITY SHOULD HAVE NO PARTY LINE

Rep. Thomas Massie recently named 14 people on the House floor whom he said should be investigated in connection with Jeffrey Epstein’s operation. His statements were allegations—not court findings—and being named in Epstein-related records does not by itself establish criminal wrongdoing.

That distinction matters.

But so does the principle behind the investigation:

If credible evidence points to a billionaire, investigate it.

If it points to a Democrat, investigate it.

If it points to a Republican, investigate it.

And if credible evidence ever points to a sitting president, that evidence should be investigated too.

Nobody should be prosecuted simply because their name appears in a file. But nobody should receive immunity because of their wealth, influence, or political connections.

Release records lawfully, protect survivors, protect due process, and follow the evidence wherever it leads.
