A Saturday in the Hamptons to remember! Thank you to the incomparable Jessie Mueller, our incredible host BD Wong, and RTKids alum Anthony J Garcia for a night of breathtaking music - and to hosts & Steven Weisbrot and Co-Chairs Jan Svendsen Weiss and Leslie Mayer for making it all possible. Last week, we had the privilege of taking 20 of our rising eighth-grade students to the Actors Fund Home in Englewood, New Jersey, where they shared a special performance with the residents.
The residents thoroughly enjoyed the show, and our students were wonderful ambassadors for Rosie’s Theater Kids. But what made the day truly extraordinary happened after the performance.
For nearly an hour, our students stayed to talk with the residents, introducing themselves, listening to stories, asking questions, and making genuine connections. Watching young people and older generations engage with such warmth, curiosity, and kindness was incredibly moving. It was a beautiful reminder that the arts don’t simply entertain, they bring people together.

Last night we celebrated our wonderful RTKids Senior Class of 2026 with their families, RTKids Staff and Board. We are so impressed by their commitment, kindness, and positivity throughout their 7 years in the ACTE II program! RTKids has a 100% rate of our students pursuing secondary education. Happy World Theater Day! The theater-going experience is a huge part of Rosie’s Theater Kids and we are so proud to say our students have been attending Broadway performances since the early 2000s. Check out the slide from our PS 130 students attending the 2001 Broadway revival of 42nd Street, to the more recent performances we have attended, including Buena Vista Club featuring an RTKids alum - full circle!
