A Chessboxing match alternates between a four minute round of chess and a three minute round of boxing for eleven rounds beginning and ending with chess. At the beginning of the contest, the chess clock is set to twelve minutes per player, and throughout the match, the players are playing the same chess game with the boxing rounds in between. The winner is decided by checkmate, knockout, expiration of time, judges decision, or resignation.
