Introducing the members of APSA's 2015 NY-Beijing Dance Scholars Program. Students from Edge School of the Arts will travel to Beijing this spring break to study at the Beijing Dance Academy. Meet Mia Brice, Anesia Whitfield, Imani Diaz, Autumn Georges, Tanasia Lane, Nykolas Davis, Nia Davis, Ashley Santiago, Bianca Leconte and Aeisha Cousins.

Jamaica Center for Arts and Learning (JCAL) presents its free 2013 Winter Dance Intensive Program, made possible by the Department of Cultural Affairs and the NY City Council and awarded by Council member Leroy Comrie.

Audition Information
Date - Monday, November 4
Location - ESOTA - The Edge School of the Arts
Address - 217-12 Merrick Boulevard, Laurelton, Queens
Time - immediately after school dismissal

Requirements
- pick up an application from IS 59, Room 105
- bring completed application to audition
- wear proper dance attire

Program Details
- open to IS 59 students only
- classes held at JCAL (164-01 Jamaica Ave) & ESOTA (217-12 Merrick)
- November 4 - December 18 - Monday, Tuesday and/or Wednesday

Training
- classical ballet
- Graham and Horton based modern
- HS audition preparation for eighth grade students

Schedule will be received at the placement audition.....

We are saddened to share that we have lost one of our KECDE grandmothers, Helen Johnson - Grandmother of Domonique Johnson. Ms. J. always made sure Dom was on each and every KECDE trip and hung right on in there with us on each and every KECDE adventure!!!! She continually supported KECDE throughout the years. We love you Ms. J! May you rest in peace!

Jamaica Celebration Honors MLK's Legacy Queens residents gathered in Jamaica at a Saturday celebration hosted by City Councilman Leroy Comrie to honor the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. with words, dance and song.

KECDE! Will perform their signature works at Council Member Leroy Comrie's annual Martin Luther King, Jr. Celebration at JPAC. Showtime is 1pm!

ESOTA Dance Moms, KECDE! and the Legacy Organization are raising funds to send Imani Diaz to a summer dance intensive of her choice. Imani recently lost her mother and has exhibited great strength through this most difficult time. In memory of her mother, Pricila Roach, we ask that you join our effort to support Imani's aspirations of becoming a seasoned dancer. She is currently looking into the possibility of attending an intensive at Eglevsky Ballet, the Dance Theater of Harlem, the Ailey School, the Joffrey Ballet School, the Graham School or NYSSSA.
