When I was 20 I took a quarter off from college & went backpacking through Europe for 5 months. Before the trip I was depressed & my grades were slipping- which is why my counselor suggested I take time off. If I’m gonna take time off I’m gonna travel 😂

At the time I had convinced myself I wanted to be a dentist. I was feeling like a looser bc of my slipping grades.
✨
Being the stoner that I was, I booked a round trip ticket to Amsterdam 😂 w/o any plans of what to do when I arrived.
✨
The most amazing journey unfolded! I met extraordinary people, felt loved, supported, uplifted and guided by the process of life! I felt like the current of life was whisking me away from one country to the next & romancing me at every turn 🌹 It was bliss!
✨
The depression and self-loathing were gone. My self-worth was no longer tied to my productivity and I was feeling GOOOOD.
✨
Before the trip I was really anti-money, material possessions, attachments & desires. I had a Buddhist proverb hung on my dorm room wall that said “be careful the objects you own don’t own you.”
✨
That trip changed my life and my relationship with money.
✨
I returned home with a new devotion to my studies- not bc of my love for dentistry 🤣 but bc I knew the life of my dreams would require much wealth. All I wanted to do was travel and *connect* to new people and places. ✨✨For me, money facilitates connection and with Love as my middle name, connection is definitely my game.
✨
I thought I had to work hard to play hard. No pain no gain. I’d have to grind for my finances to grow and so I could glow.
✨
Welp. I did grind. And I was miserable. I got amazing grades, scored in the 90th percentile of my dental admissions test and STILL got rejected from dental school.
✨
In the years between undergrad and grad school I started offering psychic readings and was just generally having a BLAST! AND- I was making bank. Like, through readings. 🤯
✨
My relationship with pleasure, purpose & “work” changed. Since then I’ve noticed when I’m happy, the money flows 🧲. Pleasure is the ultimate money maker.
