Happy Lunar New Year to you and all your loved ones. Enter the Wood Dragon! The wood element represents vitality and creativity, as well as steadiness, honesty, generosity, and calmness. Focusing on these representations in aikido training would only enrich a studentās path.

We train to deepen our understanding, to connect with our community, and - most importantly - to strive towards being better people.

When you train, train with the purpose of connecting. Connecting not only for an instantaneous moment of an attack, but rather for a dedicated and continual connection to peace.

Aikido ⦠an art that gives a cosmos of physical and spiritual lessons designed to enrich a studentās life. For those that train ⦠we do have a responsibility - a debt - to not only persist, but to strongly rebel against the obstacles and challenges that we face year after year. We train because we love to, but we also train out of responsibility to honor those whoāve devoted their lives to the art before us, and those to come after us.
Preserve art and honor. Ensure Aikidoās longevity for a multitude of future generations, by finding a way to train and build the communities weāre blessed with.

We push when we train ⦠we push to be better people. And, hopefully along that journey we experience plenty of joy.
