hackNY aims to foster the next generation of hackers for the New York innovation community.

Today is Giving Tuesday! hackNY is a community of technologists with a mission to change the world. Your contribution today directly supports the infrastructure, resources, and programming that make this possible.

Last year, they helped us run the Summer Fellowship and our Spring conference (for early to mid-career NYC tech leaders), and simply keep the lights on for the year!

During the 4th and 5th week of the fellowship, fellows heard from alumNY Alex Akers (h’13) on his experience working at Apple 🍎, as well as Benjamin Rubin, Co-founder & CEO of SnoFox Sciences.
SnoFox employs detailed thermodynamic simulations and data analysis to help large refrigeration operations lower their environmental impact and increase their performance ❄️

Pizza, anyone? This summer, alumNY Doug (h’17) and Jacob (h’17) kicked off their inaugural pizza tour and led fellows and alumNY through a day of exploring some of the best NY slices!

Stops included Paulie Gee’s, Chrissy’s Pizza, L’industrie, Scarr’s Pizza, and Mandro’s of Mulberry 🍕 what was your favorite spot?

Fellows got to learn about what it takes to build profitable and sustainable software for farms, as well as the behind the scenes moving parts of all the fun NYT Games!

Our 2025 fellows and previous hackNY alumni joined together to participate in our SSNON&TI (stupid s**t no one needs & terrible ideas) hackathon last Saturday, a one day event for the new fellows to meet the alumNY and build something fun with no value whatsoever! 🛠️
