The NYC Sabres was founded in 1998 by Thomas Law along with five ambitious young girls from the New York Chinatown Community.
A New York City based not-for-profit 501(c)(3) corporation promoting the development of Asian American youth and young adults through the sport of basketball and community service. Tom started this program with the goal of encouraging girls to learn and play competitive basketball. After five years of hard work and hundreds of hours of practicing, the team began winning and attracting new members.

In 2013, Safyre Terry lost her father and siblings in a suspected arson fire. She was the sole survivor and had suffered burns over 75% of her body, causing her to lose her left foot and right hand. Despite her tragic story she remains to be such a brave and positive soul. Christmas is Safyre's favorite holiday and her wish is to fill up a card tree purchased by her paternal aunt.
