3 years, 3 months and 27 days.

10 people living in our home - evacuated

1 insurance company that took almost 12 months to pay out

1 insurance broker who under insured us and was so useless and we'll never use again

1 broker who came to our rescue and saved us

1 Council that drew this out for over 3 years

1 of our builder clients who said - we'll do it

I don't know how many tears, how many swear words I've spoken, or how many times we thought we were almost there... and then weren't!

But today...... finally..... after all of this time...

We finally have broken ground.

So grateful 🙏🏼

Eli and I are on to our 5th week of morning One Tree Hill walks.

Its part of us discovering what business looks like for us now and going forward.

After years of hustling and having less focus on our health and well being

we've realised that there has to be a better way.

So while we could just lay in bed in the mornings

we decide to get up and go for a walk

and watch the beautiful sun rise at the top of the hill.

I heard once...

"Your health account,
your bank account,
they're the same thing.
You can't just keep writing checks on it
without ever making a deposit."

So... we're focusing on both.

And its not only good for business,

its good for our relationship with each other

and with our family.

Happy Monday!! 🌞 🌅

Usually when you sell an Accounting firm, the new owner asks you to stay for twelve months.

We stayed for three.

He asked us to leave after two.

That wasn't luck.

We had spent years making ourselves unnecessary.

Not because we didn't care about the business.

Because we cared about it deeply enough to build it without us at the centre.

We handed client relationships to our team.

We documented every process.

We made sure that the way we did things lived in systems, not in our heads.

Some people thought that was risky.

Giving your team the relationships.

Trusting them with the thing you'd built.

But we knew who we were.

We knew what made us different.

And we knew that if a client chose to leave because of a team member they trusted, that was on us - not them.

Owner reliance is the most common trap I see in small business.

It feels like loyalty.

It feels like quality control.

But sometimes it's just fear wearing a very practical coat.

Finding balance between life and work is an ongoing journey.

Today, I'm reminded of the power of simply being present and listening to our bodies.

Whether through nature walks, taking a moment to breathe, or setting boundaries, it's the small, intentional steps that make a difference.

How do you carve out time for your wellbeing amidst the hustle? Let's share our tips!

Funerals have a way of stopping you in your tracks.

Such moments, surrounded by stories of a life fully lived,

remind us of the fleeting nature of time.

As we sit there, listening to heartfelt eulogies,

one can't help but reflect on their life, family and work.

Funerals prompt such introspection, don't they?

They nudge us to pause and look at our own lives, our relationships, our businesses.

The truth hits you - you no longer assume time is limitless.

In this reflection, I've realised how crucial it is to live fully - in life and business.

Many business owners are caught up in their ventures,

often to the extent that they forget to live fully.

Time with our loved ones - our greatest gifts - gets sidelined.

How often have you heard of entrepreneurs never truly taking a holiday or unable to switch off?

Many of us have fallen into the trap of being indispensable within our businesses.

From the thousands of businesses surveyed, our data shows that 5% of business owners believe their business would survive in their absence.

It's an alarming statistic, isn't it?

It suggests we need to create businesses that can thrive independently of us.

That requires intentional processes, delegation, and elevating others within our teams.

As I reflected on these things, our decision to sell WE Accounting came into sharper focus.

Knowing that our hard work, and more importantly, our values, would carry on without our constant oversight, allowed me to truly let go.

Selling wasn't just a business move - it was an investment in living more fully.

So, as you think about your life and business,

I invite you to ask:

What changes will you make knowing that your time is not unlimited?

How can you spend your days doing what you love, with whom you love, while still leaving a meaningful legacy?

Because ultimately, what better legacy can we leave than showing those around us how to live fully?

Many business owners build successful companies through hard work, commitment, and years of leadership.

But over time, the structure of the business often evolves around the founder.

Decisions run through them.
Relationships depend on them.

And stepping away never feels completely comfortable.
Owning a business is one thing.
Leading a business that can operate confidently without you is another.

That’s the conversation we’ll explore in the Top Performers Workshop.

𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗳𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗳𝘁:

There’s a different kind of confidence that comes when you understand your numbers.

You stop second-guessing.
You move quicker.
You make clearer calls.

It’s not about knowing everything—
just knowing enough to move forward with intent.

That’s the shift we’re talking about in this session.

What would happen if you stepped away from your business for 90 days? Many successful businesses still rely heavily on the founder.

The decisions.
The relationships.
The pressure.

Over time, this limits both the resilience of the business and the freedom of the owner.
In the Top Performers Workshop, Wyndi and Eli Tagi explore how to begin building a business that can stand without you.
