Galacticos CC will be having our first cricket nets of the year this Sunday at CricMax in New Jersey!

Place: CricMax Sporting Facility (4440 Bordentown Ave, Old Bridge, NJ 08857)
Format: 2 full run up nets

Happy New Year to all our Galacticos members, friends and well-wishers! While 2021 was a tough year given the pandemic, we at GCC were fortunate to have a complete cricket season, fielding 84 players throughout the season across two leagues in NY and NJ with 75+ cricket matches (including one test match). Most important to us is the opportunity to serve the sport in the tri-state area, bringing cricketing happiness to our members and friends during these times.
A big thank you to our fellow cricket teams, league organizers, park authorities, umpires and fans for making this possible. We really mean it - none of this would be possible without the collaborative effort!
We have some great plans for 2022 and will be starting our season nets soon besides some other exciting off season activities as we prepare for the Spring! Please get in touch if you want to meet a great group of guys and be part of GCC!

A huge weekend for Galacaticos:
1) First XI fights back with commanding win in Millennium Cricket League - led by an epic 230* (145) by Reece Gladstone, and 77* (71) by Nikhil Puri. Highest partnership for any wicket for GCC with 278* unbeaten for the third wicket surpassing previous best of 185 in July 2017 vs Hoboken.
2) 2nd XI registers first win in highly competitive NYNCL, with a commanding century from Waqas Ali.
3) GCC celebrated the two wins and opening quick Abbas Khan's birthday in style.
Excited to keep the positive momentum going.

4/10/2021, a year after quarantine, fights with roommate, struggle with boredom or occupied with extra work, a year nonetheless of yearning and wanting more, Cricket finally returned for GCC.
Starting of their campaign with preseason inter-club practice game before jumping into league and eyeing to hold the trophy.
Day kicked off with a lite warmup and a fielding session, thereafter all players dived into two teams led my the club founder Nikhil Puri and a longstanding club member a Goliath in batting order Ben Chelladurai.
Ben’s XI batting first posted a decent total of 256/9 in 40 overs by the help of Madhu Kiran (55 off 45 balls), a steadfast Wrick Basu’s innings (48 off 58 balls) and a calm 36 runs off 37 balls by Kirti Saini.
In balling Kaushik Narayan leading the board (3/38 in 8overs) followed by Milan Ganatra (2/46 in 7overs)
In the chase Nikhil’s XI falling short by 7 runs (249/8 in 40 overs). A fight put up by Apoorva Wanchoo (41 of 49 balls), Angad Singh (66 of 73 balls) and the captain himself (38 of 51 balls).
They were restricted by Ehtesham Maliks on point death balling (3/40 in 8overs) and Shantanu Mehrotra’s nimble middle overs (2/33 in 8overs).
Player of the match was awarded to Madhu Kiran who’s experience and a quick fire fifty was the difference in winning and losing.
Day ended with a calmness of spring and smiles from few brews. Everyone looking forward towards the season with a want to win.
