Thanks #Voltron / @sprite #Repost @voltronofficial Voltron hasn’t been involved in a lot of crossovers, which is why the Defender of the Universe’s appearance in a series of 1998 #Sprite commercials was such a surprise. Also a surprise? Voltron is canonically all about the hip-hop scene. King Zarkon (Jack Angel back in the role) declares war on humanity because he’s not feeling hip-hop. So, he sends a Robeast to destroy Earth. Hip-Hop artists @GoodieMob, @westsidemack10, @FatJoe, and @Common take turns piloting Lions in losing fights against the Robeast before @afrika_bambaataa_official arrives in the Black Lion. He unites the different hip-hop scenes to form Voltron and win the day with the Blazing Mic. It’s wild.
