If you are interested in Japanese art or playing cards, consider this Kickstarter campaign (not related to NYCA), which runs to May 31.

"Sensu, meaning Japanese folding fan, is a limited-edition deck of hand-drawn, full-bleed, luxury art playing cards that use the canvas of the playing card in an entirely original way. The art is full of meticulous detail and hidden narratives, the whole campaign takes perhaps unseen before care for environmental sustainability, and the campaign is dedicated to supporting and enhancing animal welfare (see below for details)."

Registration and the schedule are up for the ASU Summer Intensive 2019 (July 3-7) with Mitsugi Saotome shihan in Washington, D.C. Saotome sensei will be joined by William Gleason, Tres Hofmeister, George Ledyard, Wendy Whited, Charles Weber, Lee Crawford, Satoru Sato, Ayhan Kaya, and Stéphane Le Derf. Senior instructors from the seminar host Aikido Shobukan Dojo, Robert Deppe, Eugene Lee, Chris Royal and Kamenna Lee, will also be leading classes.

Weapons classes include additional instructors Melissa Bell, Don Ellingsworth, Steven Schneid, Jim Alvarez, and Josh Drachman.
