Steven is a first year at Columbia College, class of 2027, and he intends to major in Political Science 📚🧑⚖️. His hometown is New York City. He knew he wanted to join Sabor “for two main reasons: one, because as a Dominican I have been dancing for my entire life. But the other reason is that I could tell that the Sabor group has really good chemistry and I really wanted to join this mini-family!” One fun fact about Steven is he knows how to ride a motorcycle 🏍.
One of his favorite childhood memories that brings him back to his roots and upbringing is “the night I spent under the mango tree with my cousins on my grandmas farm in the DR.” We are so happy to have you on our team!

Daniella is a senior at Barnard College, class of 2024, and she majors in Urban Studies (Sustainability track) with a minor in Political Science 📚📖. Her hometown is Norwalk, CT. She knew she wanted to join Sabor because she wanted “To form a stronger connection with my latinidad, learn more styles of latin dance, & foster strong bonds with the team!!” One fun fact about Daniella is she likes to paint. Oil, guache, and watercolor are her favorite painting mediums 🎨🖌.
One of her favorite childhood memories that brings her back to her roots and upbringing is “Cooking hallacas y pan de jamon at home with my parents and sister for Christmas while skyping my grandparents and cousins from Caracas and Mérida, Venezuela.” We are so happy to have you on our team!

She knew she wanted to join Sabor because “I am in love with Latin dance and wanted to join a supportive community that shares that same passion!” One fun fact about Amalia is she knows how to make pickle soup 🍲.
One of her favorite childhood memories that brings her back to her roots and upbringing is “When I was a kid I really loved fairies; I read about them, played pretend games with my friends about them, and drew them. Looking at the old fairy books and art I have brings me back to my childhood.” We are so happy to have you on our team!

Sebas is a junior at Columbia College, class of 2025, and he majors in East Asian Studies and Religion 📖. His hometown is San Juan, Puerto Rico 🇵🇷. He knew he wanted to join Sabor because he wanted “To find a community that enjoys dancing as much as I do and have fun while meeting new people.” One fun fact about Sebas is he really loves plants and wishes to have many in the future 🪴.
Something that brings him back to his roots and upbringing is “Speaking in Spanish has always been essential to me. It is my preferred language to use and, since I lived in PR my whole life, it's what reminds me of my friends and family back home. Especially in the winters when it gets cold and gloomy, talking nonsense in Spanish is gold. And obviously music.” We are so happy to have you on our team!

SBRtv is proud to present the NEWBIE AWARD for Huge Marvel Fan 🦸♂️🦸♀️ to Erika Gonzalez (she/her)! Erika is a sophomore at Columbia College, class of 2026, and she intends to major in Neuroscience and Behavior 🧠. Her hometown is Union City, NJ. She knew she wanted to join Sabor “because of the energy and light hearted + fun team dynamic they bring to campus. I wanted to be able to be part of a team that would also treat me as family on campus while I navigate through these difficult but exciting years at Columbia :)” One fun fact about Erika is she is a huge marvel fan.
One of her favorite childhood memories that brings her back to her roots and upbringing is “My last Christmas with my grandfather he spent noche buena teaching me how to dance merengue and bachata. That night was full of so much light and happiness which he carried with him at all times even until his remaining days on which he whispered to me to never stop dancing. Those memories with my grandfather are what I picture every time I go on a stage knowing he’s still watching.” We are so happy to have you on our team!

We are so excited to announce our SECOND WORKSHOP 💃of the semester TODAY, 9/11, in Lerner 555 (on the fifth floor) at 8pm!!! We can’t wait to bachata and salsa with you!!
If you have ever wanted a chance to be on the HOTTEST 🔥 Latin dance team at Columbia or just want a chance to dance your heart out make sure to attend our workshop!!
We will also be holding AUDITIONS 🥰 on TOMORROW, 9/12!! We will post the LOCATION of auditions soon so make sure you check back here!!

We have our incredible Daniel Delgado🤩
Daniel joined Sabor fall 2022. He graduated from graduate school with a major in electrical engineering 🔌. Thank you for everything you have contributed to our sa - familia. 🥹🥰 We will miss your hilarious jokes, overwhelming enthusiasm, warm presence, and amazing dance moves. We can’t wait to see and hear about all the great things you will do, El Recuerdo. We will miss you so much!!! 🌹

Sabor: How long have you been on the team? What’s your major, college, and hometown?
Daniel: For one semester 😭, electrical engineer, NYC jhuu heard YEER
Sabor: Favorite Sabor moment?
Daniel: Last two days of fall show seeing people put in the work and collaboration to make an amazing show.
Sabor: Favorite choreography?
Daniel: Juanjo reggeaton piece was crazy s**t had the boiis trying to remember the choreo during practice
Sabor: Advice for current sabor members!
Daniel: Treasure these moments you have outside of school especially if ur an undergrad because these relationships are in once and a lifetime and after school people go there separate ways but like family we will always be there in our tough and good times. So enjoy your college experience as much as you can

IT’S OUR LAST WORKSHOP OF THE SEMESTER!!💃🕺We are partnering with Latinx Grad 🎓to raise money for our seniors and their Latinx Grad Ceremony. Come to Broadway Room in Lerner at 9:30pm to dance off the stress of your upcoming finals! We hope to see you all there!!
