19 years! Today is my transplant anniversary. So grateful my stepfather donated a kidney to me and gave me these 19 extra years! Blessed am I! (Thanks to my husband for this beanaversary shirt this morning!)

Today marks 19 years since my kidney transplant. The places I have seen, the life I have lived and the time I have had are never forgotten. This day is always one of gratitude for my stepfather who donated his kidney to me. Cheers to life!
It’s challenging to step ahead and even more so, behind. Knowing one’s body in space is integral for balance. Balance training is important at all ages and not just for dancers. This is an advanced exercise but we incorporate balance exercises in all of our classes. Standing tall on one leg is as important as on two! Pilates strengthens the small muscles necessary for proper form and living an active life!
Dancer day! A female dancer’s upper body tends to be weaker than their lower body. These ladies rocked it! And the men, of course! Joy to teach them! Don’t miss their premiere performance of Swan Lake on Feb 11th https://www.miamicityballet.org/swan

Teaching these talented dancers is a great joy for me. They always put in the work and effort. I love that we laugh and have fun. And selfishly it’s one way for me to remember my years of dance as well. Thank you for coming!
Dancers in the house means a hard and focused workout! Pilates helps everyone with muscles not targeted in daily life. Bikers, runners, golfers and those with sedentary lives, Dancers work most of their career in turnout. Switching to parallel really works the muscles not targeted in their daily work. This works to prevent injury by strengthening opposing muscle groups. Taught by amazing Adriana.
