Dr. Mark DeGarmo will serve as a Keynote Speaker at the 4th International Interdisciplinary Symposium, Border/less 4.0: Beyond Crisis: New Acts of Creation, hosted by Beykoz University’s Faculty of Art and Design in Istanbul, Turkey.

The hybrid symposium will take place June 24-26, 2026, bringing together international scholars and practitioners across the social sciences, arts, and humanities, engaged in interdisciplinary and practice-based areas of research and creative inquiry.

This year’s theme, Beyond Crisis: New Acts of Creation, examines how ongoing global instability, including environmental change, socio-political upheaval, and technological transformation, can be understood not only as disruption but as a catalyst for new forms of creativity, innovation, and interdisciplinary practice. The symposium highlights how emerging conditions are reshaping approaches to creation across the arts, sciences, technology, and social systems, generating new frameworks for resilience and imagination in the 21st century. Symposium languages are Turkish and English.

In this clip from our Dance Education Roundtable for Social Change, MDD Board Member and parent Delia Nevola shares how Mark DeGarmo Dance’s school program has impacted her daughter through creativity, confidence, and joy.

Right now, we need your help to continue bringing that “profound joy” of dance to students across NYC.

Our Dance for Dance 2026 fundraising campaign runs through June 7th, and we still are only 85% of the way to reach our goal. If we do not raise these funds, Mark DeGarmo Dance might have to eliminate school partnerships next year, impacting hundreds of under-resourced and marginalized NYC public school students who rely on outsider providers like us to provide their arts and dance education.

Your support helps NYC public school students access dance education, creative expression, literacy integration, and joyful learning experiences that stay with them for life.

Please donate and help us keep all of our partnerships alive next year: https://markdegarmodance.org/donate/

As our Dance for Dance 2026 campaign continues through June 7th, we’re asking for your support to help sustain our work. We still need to raise $15,000 to meet our goal. If we do not raise these funds, Mark DeGarmo Dance might have to eliminate school partnerships next year, impacting hundreds of under-resourced and marginalized NYC public school students who rely on outsider providers like us to provide their arts and dance education.

That means students like Ms. Levy’s won’t have access to creative learning, movement, & literacy integration through MDD’s evidence-based Partnerships in Literacy Through Dance & Creativity Program.

Please help us protect and sustain these programs for NYC public school students. Every donation helps us move closer to keeping all school partnerships alive next year, whether $1, $10, $100, or $10,000.
