Joffrey Ballet School

The Joffrey Ballet School is coming to Colombia! In collaboration with Universidad del Rosario and Misi Producciones, we are bringing Musical Theater to the city of Bogotá during a 2-day workshop open to the public, March 15 & 16, 2025.

Train in dancing, singing, and acting, with two performers and now educators who have starred in some of Broadway’s greatest shows. Be immersed in the original music and inspired choreography from the hit Broadway musical Shrek The Musical, to be performed in an in-studio final showing for friends and family. Performers will also be considered for acceptance and potential merit-based scholarship to the NYC Musical Theater Summer Intensive at the Joffrey Ballet School! This is a weekend you won’t want to miss!

As the Fall season comes to a close for our Children's and Youth Ballet Program, we celebrated with an exciting Parent Observation Week! During this special event, parents were invited to join their dancers in the studios and witness firsthand the hard work, dedication, and progress their children have made.

Sidney Lowenthal brought her unparalleled expertise to our Beginner Intermediate Ballet class on Monday night!

With 38 years of teaching at the Joffrey Ballet School, Sidney has inspired countless dancers of all ages and levels—from children to adult beginners, intermediates, and advanced students.

Sidney’s illustrious dance journey began with training at Jacob’s Pillow, the University of Utah, Virginia Intermont College, and the Joffrey Ballet School. She holds a BFA in Ballet from Virginia Intermont College and an MA in Teaching English as a Second Language from NYU.

Her performance career spans renowned companies, including Ballet West, Central City Opera, Portland Opera, Bristol Virginia Concert Ballet Company, and Manhattan Ballet Company.

Thank you, Sidney, for your dedication to nurturing our dancers and sharing your passion for ballet!

The spring semester is off to an inspiring start for our Jazz & Contemporary Trainees! Day one was packed with creativity and energy—from refining technique in Ramona Kelley’s ballet class, bringing the rhythm and energy in Antonio Jefferson's hip hop class, to finding their voice and stage presence with Angelo Soriano. It is just the beginning of an exciting journey ahead this spring!

The spring semester is officially in motion and we are thrilled to see our Texas Trainees back in action! From orientation with our Artistic Directors and faculty, to dynamic modern class with Claude Alexander III and graceful pointe work with Linda Hathaway, it is already shaping up to be an inspiring season.

We can’t wait to see the continued growth, artistry, and hard work from our Texas Trainees!

Are you a beginner, or adult dancer, looking for additional training? Joffrey Ballet School offers a Ballet Classical Variation OPEN CLASS every week!⁠

The variation class is an opportunity to learn classical ballet variations from famous repertoire ballets such as Giselle, Swan Lake, Nutcracker, and many others! This class is designed for dancers with a clear understanding of the foundational elements of ballet. These concepts will be reviewed and studied while learning the variation, and then performed in the center.

Dancers must take Beginner Intermediate Ballet with Stephanie Godino at 3:00 p.m. in order to participate in the Ballet Classical Variation class. Dancers may take this class en pointe or in flat ballet shoes.
