Week one is bringing our Pre-Professional Trainee Program community together as dancers across our Ballet and Jazz & Contemporary Trainee concentrations settle into their classes and begin the work that will shape the year ahead.
These first days are about establishing new routines, connecting with faculty and fellow dancers, and approaching each class with curiosity, commitment, and a readiness to grow. Across both concentrations, our Trainees are already putting that mindset into practice as they move through a full schedule of training and begin finding their rhythm within the program.
There is so much ahead for our dancers in the studios, on stage, and throughout the Joffrey Ballet School community. We are excited to see everything they will accomplish together this year!

A love of dance can start from the very first steps! Our Children’s Ballet Program introduces young dancers ages 2–7 to the joy of movement while building an age-appropriate foundation in ballet.
Through creative movement, music, and introductory ballet steps, dancers are encouraged to explore their creativity, develop musicality and coordination, and grow more comfortable and confident in the studio. Most importantly, classes are designed to make learning ballet fun!
Classes begin NEXT WEEK, and there is still time to join us. Placement and trial classes are available to help find the right class for your dancer. Orientation Week set the tone for an exciting year ahead as our new and returning Pre-Professional Trainee Program dancers came together to begin their 2026–2027 season at Joffrey Ballet School!
Throughout the week, Trainees connected with their peers, met Artistic Directors, faculty, staff, and school leadership, and learned more about the history, values, and community of Joffrey Ballet School. It was an opportunity to get acquainted with the program, build new connections, and prepare for everything that comes with the year ahead.
Now, our Trainees are diving into their regular classes and beginning the work that will shape the months ahead. We are excited to see how they grow, challenge themselves, and make the most of all that this season has to offer!
