On the 19th:
Meet at our usual Prospect Park 15th St. entrance at 10:00am and roll out for practice at 10:30am (helmets required).

After practice, stay for pizza, snacks, drinks, and good vibes! We’re asking everyone to chip in $10 PER PERSON to help cover food and drinks and we’ll take care of the rest. Feel free to bring something to share if you’d like, but no pressure!

Come celebrate an incredible 2025 season with the Empire Speed crew! All are welcome, so whether you’ve been training with us all year or just curious to check it out, this is the perfect day to join the fun!

We will continue to announce our practices and evens on social media but the WhatsApp community will allow us to organize team communication even better. Things like organizing meetings, special events, community polls and uniform orders will now be easier while also providing a place for active members to get advice and see who else is available to train outside of our regular practices.

Bring your crappiest bearings! Given the number of races that have been rained on the last few years, it's important to be prepared to skate in the rain. We'll skate together and talk about rain technique and how to skate fast when there's little grip. The focus will be on skating safely so we won't be going all-out fast.

We'll ROLL OUT AT 10am SHARP to minimize people waiting around in the rain.

We just wrapped up another amazing clinic this month! Big shoutout to everyone who came out to skate, learn, and level up with us! 🙌 For those of you who are new to Empire Speed, we are a free speed skating team that practices bi-weekly in Central Park and Prospect Park.

We also hold semi-annual clinics perfect for:

This weekend Empire Speed raced another exciting Marathon and 100k! Despite the rain there was a strong turnout with loads of enthusiasm from the skaters, spectators, and one rogue dog who couldn't help but join in the fun (swipe 🐕👉).

Many personal bests were set and more memories were made. We're so proud of the work our skaters put in this year. Their continued dedication to train as well as mentor our newer skaters has grown the team and pushed all of us to train harder and skate faster and longer. We're already stoked for next year!

It's time to race again! Join us in East New York on August 18th for a 10km race around a new urban race course 🏁

This flat, technical course is approximately 0.8 miles and will have race marshalls safe guarding each intersection. All skill levels are welcome, no special skates required, as long as you have a helmet.

Next Race, coming in hot! Sunday, June 23rd 🔥

Join us for the next race of the season on Randall's Island. This race will be a 10k on a closed loop with nice roads and some exciting twists and turns!

All skaters/abilities are welcome. Registration MUST be done in advance! See LINK IN BIO for all the information you need.

Time for another technique clinic! Join us on June 2nd for a group practice session where we'll work on technique, cornering and race tactics.

Asusual, these clinics are open to people of all ability levels and no special skates are needed to participate! If you're looking to improve your skating, have a blast while doing it AND meet the rest of the community this is the day!

The season has been properly kicked off! The Coney Island 10k went off smooth and dry despite the rain all morning. We had roughly 40 competitors of all ages and abilities on a beautiful race course organized by

There were lots of great performances by talented skaters, both Novice and experienced and Empire was proud to take the top spots 🏆✨🎉

Join us for our first Central Park evening practice of the season, TOMORROW Thursday, May 2nd

WHAT:
Whether your goals are to race or just to learn to skate faster and more efficiently, we can help! We'll be teaching proper skating technique, pack skating skills and everything you need to know to get faster and stronger :muscle:

WHO:
You! While skaters of all abilities are welcome, we recommend you be comfortable with stopping (if necessary) and going down hills FAST.

WHERE:
We meet at the 67th St Entrance, inside Central Park on the main road,(Google maps LINK IN BIO).

WHEN:
We meet at 7pm and roll out at 7:30pm SHARP. If you're new to our pracrices, come earlier to meet the group and learn the ground rules!
