A few images captured from a powerlifting meet I competed in on January 8th down in Tuscaloosa, Alabama.
Here are two sets of 8@375. The first is from last week and I am wearing Mark Bell's Slingshot Briefs which provide warmth for the hips and aid in the bounce out of the bottom. The second set is from yesterday and is without any compression at all. I am working on being as consistent and as explosive as possible.

Will Deadlifts Hurt My Back? Here is a question that we hear all the time from clients at TD Athletes Edge, namely, “Will deadlifting hurt my back?”
Here are the top lifts (253 lb squat, 75 lb bench, and 352 lb deadlift) for my client in her very first powerlifting competition at 61 years young. Now, she did not have such aspirations of becoming a powerlifter when she first hired me to coach her online in October 2017 but the numbers she achieved over the course of that time so inspired her to compete. That said, her next competition will be in September.

We’ve been programmed to think the key to fat loss su...
Enjoyed a pretty thorough leg and glute focused training session yesyetday morning. Shown here are deadlifts 8@405, leg presses 12@590, good mornings 10@239, and hip thrusts 12@150. It is really nice to be getting back into the swing of things after such a long lay off due to the gyms being shut down.
Shoulder presses, upright rows, and shrugs.
Slowly but surely increasing the rep count on these sets of shoulder presses. Just recently started working with this weight (24kgs) and was at 3 reps for a bit before going to 4 reps a few days ago and got 5 reps this morning.
I did, in total, 57 swings while it was supposed to be only 54 but I can't count. This routine calls for 10 swings, 9 swings, 8 swings, and so on down to a single swing. This is something I have not done since 2008 when I did the entire 110 swing set.
After realizing a new 1 rep max of 365 lbs, celebrated with this set of 8@315.
