🔥 Timely note from SEJ about a little known NEW ad placement on Facebook:

KEY HIGHLIGHTS TO KNOW:

✅ Must be run with Newsfeed placement selected


✅ You can not bid on keywords like Google, but rather Facebook will display your search result ad based on info from Pages that are topically related (So far as they can discern)

Therefore - ensure your topical keywords are covered well and with good taste in your Business Page.


✅ Can be a static image or a carousel creative.


SEO for your page for best Paid Ad results. Quite interesting.

🔥 Facebook Group Admins 🔥 - there is a lot of misinformation being spread around about purging of members from groups.

Not really true... my friend Mari has the best, most clear explanation, and why this really should be viewed positively!

📢 Facebook Group Admins: Have you seen a sudden decrease in your group member count? Check your new "Invited" section!

Facebook just rolled out new changes to the way groups work... thankfully!! A very long time coming! Facebook says, "To help ensure people join Facebook Groups that are relevant and meaningful to them, you'll see the following changes:..."

Did you get the email? Here's the scoop:

★ NEW! ★ INVITED SECTION.
Facebook states, "In the next few weeks, people who've been added to your group — but have never visited it — will appear in the new INVITED section of your Members list, which only admins and moderators can view.

NOTE: The invited people will not be considered a member until they *accept* their invite. This means they will no longer be included in your group's total member count, so you may see a decrease in your group's total member count. (This is why many group admins may be seeing a sudden decrease in member count.)

★ UPDATED GROUP INVITATION ★
Now, when people are invited to a group, they can accept or decline the invite. Before, people could be added by friends who thought they might be interested in them, and they'd immediately become a member.

[Sidebar: automatically being added to groups was probably one of the most frustrating features of groups since Facebook launched them!! 😜]

Some people may have been added to your group, but have never visited it! These are the people who are getting pulled out of your total group member count and listed in the new 'Invited' section. Invited members are in 'Preview Mode.'

★ REMINDER NOTIFICATION ★
In the next few weeks, Facebook says admins will be able to send one notification to invited people to remind them to accept or decline the invite to your group.

To get to your new Invited section and to send reminder notifications...

On DESKTOP: Go to your group > Click on Members in the left navigation > then look to the right and you'll see a section with three items: Invited, Unavailable and Blocked. Click on the Invited link. Next to each name, you'll see three dots. Click the dots > click Send Reminder. Note: on desktop there are only two options as shown in the screenshot here - Remove from Group and Send Reminder.

On MOBILE: Go to your group > tap on Members at the top > tap on the Invited column. Then, on the list of names, tap on anyone and a slide up menu shows. The options are different on mobile than on desktop. There are three choices: View Profile, Send Reminder, Cancel Invite. Hm, interesting!

Facebook for Developers - Succeed with Messenger 05/02/2018

"Conversational commerce" via Messenger Marketing.

It's like a completely new business dimension has been unlocked.

Solopreneurs & Small Businesses especially... ignore at your own peril.

It's simple really. At it's most basic level, it works like this:

Messaging creates relationships, and relationships drive social business decisions.

While I'm certainly not alone in being bullish on the topic since late 2017, client after client prove to me that when it's done properly, there are few verticals that can't find innovative strategies to leverage Messenger.

Anyhow, I found this to be a really fascinating panel conversation at Facebook's F8 conference. Now with Facebook announcing that they have lifted the pause on connecting Messenger Bots to pages, it can't be overstated how critical it is to really learn how your market conversationally speaks (Tone, expectations, greeting, etc) when engaging with your business page.

If you get the Messenger experience right, the business results follow. Listen to how T-Mobile was able to achieve 1/3rd reduction in ad spend from Q1 2018 over Q4 2017, whilst improving the actual results!

A great story highlighted on an edition of "Returning The Favor" - a micro show about doing good things for people who are doing good things for others.

😍Love it...

Personally, this is the type of thing I want to see more of in my newsfeed. It inspires people to think differently, and consider the interest and impact we can each have on others.

Everyone can make difference. From sharing a smile, to opening a Come-Unity based cafe.

🤔Am I alone in feeling inspired by such stories? Or do these provoke you to think differently as well?
