As MPJ enters the final year of his contract, Brooklyn GM Sean Marks made it clear the team won’t force an extension just because of the timeline.

Marks emphasized that patience is key and that the Nets want to make the right decision when it comes to Porter Jr.’s future in Brooklyn.

In an interview with ClutchPoints' Erik Slater, Marks said:

“No. Any time you're in a hurry, that's when you make mistakes... We don't wanna do anything hastily or in a rush here. I love Mike... and I hope he is part of this team. But we’re just gonna have to have those discussions between the two of us and our representatives and go from there.”

The Nets clearly value MPJ, but they’re letting the process play out before making a long-term commitment.

“Oh, my god! Trying to find a house, it’s tough. I have to sacrifice something, some space, the prices, it’s a lot... I’m definitely excited to walk around the city and hit different spots and all the restaurants. I hear there’s a lot of good food and a lot of things to do... but I’ll definitely be losing some square footage.”

Despite the sticker shock, Ellis is embracing everything the city has to offer from the energy and culture to the food scene.

It's a reminder that even NBA players have to deal with one of the toughest housing markets in the world.

Julius Randle is yet again joining a rebuild.

After helping transform the Knicks from a lottery team into a contender, the three-time All-Star believes he's ready to do it all over again in Brooklyn.

"There's definitely some similarities [to when I joined the Knicks]... But I have a lot more experience now than I did when I was joining New York. So I definitely felt like from a leadership standpoint, I can help a lot more."

Sean Marks and Jordi Fernandez didn't bring Randle in just for his scoring. They want him to set the standard.

Randle revealed the message from Brooklyn's front office was simple:

He also revealed how much confidence his new coach already has in this group.
"Jordi is really excited. He feels like we've got a chance to win every single game... I just get to come in and be a leader and really show guys how to attack every single day."

Fernandez echoed the same belief:
"He's going to be a leader, that's for sure... His leadership, not just with his voice, but also by example, is going to be very, very important."

Now, Randle will help guide a young Brooklyn core featuring Michael Porter Jr., Egor Demin, and Mikel Brown Jr.

Last season, Randle heard the trade rumors all season long.

Now, He's back in New York…and focused on one thing:
Leading the Nets back to relevance.

Drake Powell isn't letting a shooting slump shake his confidence.

Speaking to ClutchPoints' Erik Slater, Powell opened up about the mental battle that comes with seeing shots not fall.

“I've been working with my coaches on my shot. They're not going in right now. But I'm going to continue to put them up and have full confidence that they'll go in... Some nights are obviously hard when I'm by myself in the hotel room. But just been [having] constant conversations with my circle and continuing to trust them and my coaches."

Every shooter goes through rough stretches. What separates players is how they respond.

Powell isn't hiding from the struggle.

He's embracing the work, trusting the people around him, and believing the results will come.

Sometimes, confidence isn't making every shot. It's having the courage to keep taking the next one.
