Session after session, she has been relentless in her pursuit of growth. Always willing to listen. Never backing down from adversity. Always lifting up the players around her.

Today, the spotlight found her.

Not simply because she scored the winning goal, but because of the complete performance she put on display. Composed on the ball. Relentless without it. Creating opportunities for her teammates. Competing with courage every single moment she stepped on the field. All while dealing with the elements that had us all saying, “It is Hot!”

And to top it all off… the game winner.

Maia Dabi was voted as the GOAT of the match. If you saw her play today, there were moments that left you mesmerized with her brilliance on the ball. It wasn’t simply her ability on the ball but the example she set on both of sides of the ball that made the difference today.

She was joined by her teammates in her brilliance on the field. Whether it was Madison who displayed moments of courage on the ball while getting pressed and escaping it with incredible skill or Ella showing the unbeatable defender that is she is truly capable of being and her relentless in pursuit of the ball.

It could’ve been Alliete once again showing her dominance defensively as well as her innate ability of coming through in the clutch with a goal from long distance to even up the score with minutes left in the match.

The girls put on quite a show for their moms today for Mother’s Day.

To all the moms out there…

Against a talented opponent, she showcased so many things of what she does well.

After a weekend away from the pitch, both the Pride and Thorns are back in action this weekend with a full slate of games as we celebrate all the incredible moms who make this journey possible on Mother’s Day weekend.

The girls are hungry to compete after two straight weeks of intense training sessions, growth, and hard work. Energy is high, confidence is building, and both teams are ready to step onto the field together and represent everything we’ve been working toward.

Happy Mother’s Day weekend to all the amazing soccer moms who sacrifice, support, encourage, and love every step of the way. None of this happens without you.

Whether you’re chasing medals and bragging rights with your friends or competing for the opportunity to represent Staten Island at a Regional Tournament powered by ENYYSA, there is a division for you.

🏆 RECREATIONAL DIVISION
For players looking to compete, have fun, and experience the energy of a World Cup atmosphere this summer.

• $150 per team
• Medals, music, energy, and memories
• A portion of every registration goes directly back to SIYSL to continue growing the game on Staten Island

🔥 COMPETITIVE DIVISION
For teams ready to compete at a high level with something much bigger on the line.

• $250 per team
• Champions qualify for the ENYYSA Regional Tournament in July
• Winners will represent Staten Island on the regional stage
• A portion of every registration supports ENYYSA and future player development opportunities

🌍 IMPORTANT TO KNOW 🌍
Each team will represent one of the nations qualified for the World Cup.

Only ONE team per nation can register in each age group, gender, and division level.

That means once Team USA is claimed in your division… it’s gone.
Same goes for Argentina. Brazil. Portugal. France. England. Spain. And every other nation.

So if your team wants to wear the crest, represent your country, and own that identity all tournament long… don’t wait.
