RBNY Racing Verge Sport in Central Park this morning, penultimate Century Road Club Association (CRCA) race in the park. Definitely feel the fall coming low 60ies and cool wind.

Karl Dittebrandt passed away this morning, we are forever grateful for all his time spent officiating at local races. His dry humor and vast knowledge of cycling, and all things life will be dearly missed.

We are saddened to hear that a great official and true friend, Karl Dittebrandt, passed away peacefully this morning. Karl gave a huge amount of himself to cycling over the decades and was one of the most active officials in New York (officiating 43 times in the last year - more than anyone else)! He was often a moto ref for CRCA races, and a staple of the New York cycling family: an expert on the track (Category A), on the road (Category B), and our traditional “moto official captain” (Category C) at venues all over New York City. He will be greatly missed by all of us at CRCA and within the cycling community.
