Someone put a wrestling competition in a jiu jitsu tournament!

Some takedowns from my matches over the weekend. Hit at least two takedowns in each match (had 4 matches in Gi).

Getting a grip is my first action, then looking for what I want but also reading/feeling for what is there.

Here is a little side by side comparison of calories in vs calories out. Although in regards to body composition goals there are many factors that affect how food is digested, absorbed, and assimilated. As well as how metabolism changes to adapt to the environment or movement patterns. Staying consistent with food portions and quality is a strong priority if you like to gain, lose, or recovery from workouts and life.

Something I talk with all my nutrition or personal training clients is the notion of what activity or exercises do you currently engage in and for how long have you been doing it for.

For weight lost clients, increasing movement or changing up routine can give your body a new metabolic challenge and increase calorie output.

This is all but one strategy to weight loss...it starts and ends with food habits and behaviors!

Been on IG lately and seen a bunch of hip mobility stuff...yeah that stuff is cool...so here is some more!


Kneeling variation with some plates as a target. Goal is to increase the height to challenge your hip flexion range (and some abduction and internal rotation).

My favorite lift. Snatches...very technical, so every rep should be the same. But, it’s not, every rep is an adventure to reevaluate how it can be better. This is a skill, weight lifting is a skill to be developed over time. Each time touching the bar is a conversation between bar, your body, and your mind.

Client Shout OUT!! 🚨

Been working with Michael Shashaty for past two months. He has been an avid crossfitter for years, putting up consistent numbers every time he touches the bar. However, all that effort never quite got him the body composition he desired (and earned!) Fast forward to him reaching out to me for some nutritional guidance and weeks later, we are seeing results!!
