Baseball is back, and there’s no better way to kick off our own Little League season than with Opening Day for the New York Yankees! ⚪️🔵

The big leaguers are taking the field today, and soon, so will we! Whether it’s hitting home runs, making diving plays, or striking out the competition, this is the time to get excited, work hard, and have fun.

Alright, Great Kills District 24 , the countdown is officially ON! In just 17 days, the smell of fresh-cut grass (and fresh turf), the sound of the bat cracking, and the roar of the crowd will be BACK where it belongs!

And this year, we’re making history—the Senior Minor field has brand-new turf and will be used for the first time! Who’s ready to break it in with some big plays?

⚾ Arm Health Matters: Protecting Our Young Pitchers ⚾

With the news that Yankees ace Gerrit Cole is undergoing Tommy John surgery, it’s a stark reminder of how important arm care is—especially for our young pitchers. While pros have access to world-class rehab, for Little Leaguers, injury prevention is key.

Here are some tips to keep arms healthy this season:

✅ Pitch Count & Rest Days – Stick to Little League pitch count rules. Rest days matter!
✅ Proper Warm-Up & Cool Down – Never throw full speed without warming up first.
✅ Focus on Mechanics – Poor form leads to strain. Work with coaches on clean, efficient movements.
✅ Strength & Flexibility – Strong legs and core take pressure off the arm.
✅ Listen to the Body – Soreness is normal. Pain is NOT. Speak up if something doesn’t feel right.
