Gentle core recovery doesn’t have to wait til the 6-week clearance.

🌬️360° Breathing is one of the simplest ways to begin reconnecting with your core after delivery by

▫️ restoring core function and coordination between the diaphragm, transverse abdominis, and pelvic floor

▫️ regulating the nervous system

▫️ preparing the body to return to exercise

▫️ building the core capacity necessary to manage day-to-day activities

And it’s something you can safely begin as soon as you feel comfortable. Here’s how to do it ⬇️

1️⃣Inhale through your nose, feeling your rib cage expand in all directions.

2️⃣Exhale through pursed lips, drawing your navel toward your spine

That’s it! A simple practice, with a host of benefits.

💡 A few breaths in bed, in the shower, or while the baby does tummy time helps re-establish core function and lays the foundation for more progressive recovery work to come.

When a client tells you she’s pregnant, it’s easy to feel like the rules of training suddenly change. 🫄

What can she still do? What needs to be modified? What should you avoid? 😅

Those questions have their place. But they shouldn’t be the entire approach to prenatal training.

💡Instead of only asking, “What should I avoid?” ask a better question “What does my client need to be physically prepared for?”

Shifting the focus from restriction to preparation gives you a framework for making smarter, more individualized training decisions throughout pregnancy, birth, and postpartum.

🎉That’s the foundation of our Performance Training Approach, and it’s at the heart of our newly updated Pre & Postnatal Fitness Specialist Certification.

Strength training is one of the best forms of exercise you can do during pregnancy, for both you and your little one 💪

Not only is it safe, but it can also help:

✅ Reduce pregnancy pains (like back pain & sciatica)

✅ Make labor easier and potentially shorter

✅ Speed up postpartum recovery

Studies show strength training can reduce the need for interventions during childbirth and help you handle the physical demands of new parenthood (hello, lifting and carrying ALL the things)
