Selected among tango institutions across the United States to represent Argentina at the prestigious World Culture Festival in Washington, DC—alongside 180 countries from around the world.

This historic performance brought together the largest tango team ever assembled in the U.S., taking the stage with power, elegance, and unity.

NYC Tango School called upon every tango institution in New York to be part of this vision—uniting the community in an unprecedented collaboration.

23 couples dancing to La Cumparsita, in a beautiful version by Frank Valiente—an iconic piece brought to life with precision, passion, and collective energy.

Under the vision, direction, and choreography of Yamila Viana, founder of NYC Tango School—recognized for her deep mastery of Argentine tango, her strong presence in the U.S. tango scene, and her refined choreographic voice that brings clarity, musicality, and emotional power to large-scale productions—this project reached a level of excellence that reflects years of experience and artistic leadership.

In collaboration with Fausto Vazquez of Nuevos Aires Tango Group—whose exceptional communication, leadership, and organizational clarity were instrumental in coordinating dancers, aligning institutions, and ensuring a seamless creative process—this project came to life with strength and unity.
