Vento Racing overcome drama to win Governor's Cup There were times when Jordan Stevenson and his Vento Racing team felt higher powers were conspiring against them before they went on to win the 55th sailing of the Governor's Cup in Newport Beach over the weekend.

Solid first couple of days here in Detroit 💪 the lads are looking forward to working hard at the business end of the regatta.

RNZYS Performance Programme Vento Racing Jordan Stevenson, George Angus & Mitch Jackson are currently racing at the Detroit Cup being held at The Bayview Yacht Club, the second event of the US Grand Slam.

The team have just qualified for the finals after notching up 7 wins in the round robin phase, only one less than regatta leader Chris Weis 💪

The team finished 5th at the opening event of the Grand Slam in Chicago so will be hunting for a good result in Detroit ahead of the final two events in New York.

RNZYS PP Sailor Tim Snedden is also racing at the Detroit Cup, on board with American Chris Poole and his Riptide Racing Team who also have 7 wins to their name.

Just finished up an awesome week competing in the Governor's Cup - Balboa Yacht Club. We sailed really well all week but unfortunately couldn't quite lock in a spot in the semi finals and ended up 5th place. Balboa Yacht Club put on a great regatta so big thanks to everyone involved in getting the job done! We were also lucky enough and extremely humbled to take home the sportsmanship award for the week! Big congrats to KNOTS racing on the win, well deserved lads.
