The club members were introduced to power functions this week. Last week we learned about gears and transferring power thru gears and pulleys by making a hand crank windmill. This week we added a battery pack, switch and motor to power a crane. All of the teams made a crane that lifted a basket to save a mini fig and his treasure!

Lego windmill demonstrates increased speed of rotation using gears

2nd club day we learned about gears, and different ways to connect them. The build for today was a windmill. The challenge was to increase the speed from the input to the output at the rotating blade.

Great building today teams! All of club members accomplished constructing a tower today. Some were super tall, way to go! We then tested the strength of the tower by stacking books on top of them. Thank you all for showing how to be respectful towards our team members and the CougaRobotics LEGO kits.
