πhonestly weβve all been there. youβre on your mat. you close your eyes. you lower your gaze. you feel like youβre otherworldly, out of body. sometimes we just *flow*~~ and while practice on and off the mat doesnβt always seem this way, when it does, we vibe. light up. travel.

Babes, I have some travel coming up and Iβll be sharing some fav studios and teachers ~ stay tuned.

πworking together is not complicated. simply visit my website, enter a form submission and we can connect to discuss your goals. as a clinician, advocate, yoga instructor/trainer, and educator, my # 1 is always education. learn about your body, learn about how it works, understand options available and how rehab, yoga can be supportive to create the health and wellbeing youβre searching for. Itβs possible. Healing begins from the inside, out. π«Άπ½

πI get asked: as a pelvic floor PT what are some of my favorite movements to stay healthy, strong, and supported during pregnancy?
β’
[Iβm running a series so save each one or share]
β’
Have you tried this one before??
Creating space in the pelvis involves lengthening the psoas, sometimes, creating space in the base of the pelvis, usually, and returning to the breath, Always. π«Άπ½

πa story of parallel paths: in 2012, my friend Gabby and I both had a similar thought process: in the working world for 3 years post-grad, and, a bit disillusioned with the professional world and our roles in it. I decided to fiercely pursue a career toward physical therapy and yoga, and Gabby set her sights directly on Columbias nutrition program.

Years beyond this, we are both years in our practice, doing work that we love, supporting others to expand their experiences of wellness, and taking things day by day.

Itβs always special to see a longtime friend but even better to see them realizing their wildest dreams ~ and seeing them set higher and higher ones! ππ goooo girl Gabby Barreto MS RD CDN CSSD and letβs collab where we can to bring thriving health to as many people we come in contact with.

β€οΈwhen we inhale and we exhale, we are using the diaphragm muscle [probably]. When we inhale and we exhale we are using the pelvic floor muscles [we ought to be, probably]. this is nuanced, loves.

πI love speaking to groups about pelvic health. when it comes to the pelvic floor, itβs all just: muscles and nerves. thatβs something I commonly tell my patients. Meaning: itβs rehab-able ! Meaning: itβs likely that your symptoms can improve ! WHAT an event we had at Madam Brett Social Club . All attendees even passed a pop quiz.
β’
As a bonus, I raffled off my artwork-yoga leggings. We learned about pelvic health, tools to support pelvic health, and the why/what/how of pelvic physical therapy. Thank you for having me π«Άπ½
