We had a fantastic Wildlife Refuge tour today, and Lisa got a nice shot of this guy! Appears to be a Red Kit Fox.

Thanks to Assistant Harbormaster Sandi Linatsas for snapping a few shots of us transferring 20 Colonial actors onto Captain Harold Burnham’s sailing vessel “Ardelle” for today’s 250th Anniversary celebration. They were a rowdy bunch and it’s a good thing we don’t have rum on board!

Several times each summer, we host Mass Audubon’s “Family Marine Ecology” program, which is open to anyone but especially loved by young children. Families get to help us drag our plankton net, view microscopic sea critters under microscopes, and handle the sea creatures that Audubon brings aboard in their touch tanks. Sea birds, seals, and sturgeon often make a cameo appearance. Two hours of ocean discovery led by Mass Audubon’s Lisa Hutchings. NOBODY gets more excited about inspiring our youngsters with hands-on activities than Lisa! Join us this Saturday morning at this link:
