So much going on this week! July 8th join NBPT Rec and the Public Library for Li Liu Chinese Acrobatics at the Senior Community Center at 6pm. Then July 9th Quarter Finals ⚽🏆 Watch Party at 4pm at the Waterfront!

When the heat downtown is a bit too much, and you need somewhere to take a break, look no further! The Firehouse theater is open and running family friendly movies today and tomorrow 12-4. No tickets or purchase necessary. Come by, chill out, then leave whenever you want to enjoy the summer sun!

Did you know the City has a full-time Social Worker to support residents who need assistance with everything from services to referrals? The City Support Coordinator has office hours at City Hall, the Senior/ Community Center and Newburyport Public Library. Call, text or email to learn more!

Newburyport Rec and Youth Services and City of Newburyport is hosting the July 9th Quarter Finals of the FIFA World Cup 26™ that is being played at the "Boston Stadium"! Thanks to Matter Communications, we will be watching the game on a giant 16' LED screen with the beautiful river as a backdrop. The teams for the quarter final match will be determined by July 7th!

Community Watch Party Guidelines
Join us as we cheer on the world's game together! This is a family-friendly community event where fans of all ages and every team are welcome. Let's create an atmosphere that reflects the very best of our community—positive, respectful, inclusive, and fun.

Please help us make it a great experience for everyone:

*Cheer loudly, celebrate enthusiastically, and always show respect for players, officials, and fellow fans.
*Help keep this a safe, welcoming space for everyone by using appropriate language and behavior.
*Please clean up after yourselves and help keep our waterfront beautiful by using the trash and recycling containers provided.
*Walk or bike if you can! It helps reduce traffic and parking impacts and makes getting to the event easier for everyone.
*Support our local businesses by grabbing dinner, snacks, or dessert from one of the participating restaurants and shops, many of which are offering specials and discounts for watch party attendees (see below).
Together, let's make this a memorable celebration of soccer, community, and sportsmanship. See you at the match!

Newburyport City Hall will be closed on Fridays this summer. However, NBPT Rec and Youth Services is not.
We will be available by phone and email, but the office will be closed to the public on Fridays. Our Summer Office hours remain the same 9am-3pm. Please call our firect line. Also, due to the nature of our work, there are times the office is empty- always call first or reach out!
