We offer comprehensive packaged experiences for the guests that want everything included; lodging, dining, transportation, and the outdoor experiences of their choice.
****Activities include ~ guided camping, hiking, hunting, fishing, whitewater rafting, winter and summer mountain biking, flat water kayaking and canoeing, backcountry skiing and snowshoeing, and moving water kayaking and canoeing. NGS also offers transportation for these activities to and from bus stations, railroad stations, and airports. NGS will also rent some of its equipment inventory such as light weight canoes and preset outfitter campsites. NGS primary area of operation is the forest preserve within a 60 mile radius of the Newcomb town center. Areas of focus will be the Vandrewalker Wilderness Area, which includes Great Camp Santanoni, the Essex Chain of Lakes, the Hudson River from its birthplace in the Upper Works to North Creek, The Boreus ponds area once acquired by the state, and the High Peaks Region mostly form the southern approach trailhead in the Upper Works. Are co-owners of Cloudsplitter Outfitters, established in 1995. For 19 years we have offered the public outdoor recreational equipment rentals, sales, guided trips, lodging, and outdoor consultation. David Olbert is a NYS Licensed Guide for whitewater rafting, hiking, fishing, and camping, Ruth has managed Cloudsplitter Outfitters for most of its existence. Opened The Hoot Owl Lodge in Newcomb, NY on Rte. 28 N in the summer of 2014. Tony is an avid mountain biker with ten years of experience in whitewater kayaking and backcountry skiing.
