Attention: Within the next few weeks, there will be a presence of Military personnel and equipment in Avery County for training. Expect to see aircraft, vehicles and personnel in our area.

There will be (2) OSFM Fire Bridge class offered at Newland Fire Department on May 13, 2019. 1st class will begin at 1pm and the 2nd starting at 6pm. Both classes are the same. This will give any persons that has the responsibility of documenting Fire Department Run Reports or Fire Department Training a chance to view the OSFM Fire Bridge Software and learn how to input documents.

Attention: There will be a Firefighter Ropes Class at Crossnore Fire Department starting May 13 at 6pm. This class will be Monday/Tuesday (13/14) and Monday/Tuesday (20/21)

National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week began today. Telecommunications personnel in the public safety community are honored each year in April for their hard work & dedication to keeping us all safe. Be sure to thank these men and women on the local and state level for their service when you call for help.
