Thank you Newnan Golf for a great shout out and 5 great years of team golf.
65 in the FINAL ROUND at the 5A State Championship.
Co-Low Medalist at -8 for the tournament. Battled all the way to a playoff and left absolutely everything out there for Newnan.
What a performance from AJ Salierno. One of the best individual runs in program history and a week we’ll never forget.
Proud of you kid. The future is unbelievably bright. ⛳️🔥

AJs final regulation hole of High School Golf was an epic memory and microcosm of his standout wedge game and timely clutchness during his whole career. AJ needed a birdie on the final hole to post his lowest competitive round in his last high school tournament (GA 5A State Championships) of 65
AJ went on to tie for 1st with Hamilton Coleman and lost the playoff hole due to a bad bounce into the lip of a fairway bunker. AJ led the leaderboard of D1 bound players. If you see this video, you see AJ the golfer and competitor. We are Thankful to Our Savior Jesus for as the word says all blessings come from God. In game of mostly coulda shoulda woulda, AJ did to close out his legacy HS career at Newnan HS.

5A State Championship Update. AJ is In contention and sits 1 back of the individual lead after a -1 71 today.

AJ will play for the Ga 5A team (Newnan) and Individual State Championship Mon/Tues Jekyll Island golf Dunes Course. Please pray for a great final High School Tournament. Newnan has never won a Golf State Championship and they are one of the top 3of12 that made it here.

TV Highlights ⬇️
NB3 National Championship in Louisiana aired on the Golf Channel tonight and AJ got a nice highlight segment as they showed 2 of his shots. As a reminder, AJ was -6 and in 2nd place going to 9th tee in the final round, but made a few mistakes in serious wind and ended up finishing E par for the week. His scores were 69/68/76. Thanks to NB3 for showing his awesome short game on TV.

Life on the road as a Jr golf family. Just arrived at Sea Island Retreat at St Simons for a 2 day and 1 night qualifier to try and get into the Jones Junior Cup Invitational at the end of December. 5 am wake up, 6 am departure and 10:45 arrival. It’s also raining very hard and cold.

Research show less than 2% of High School Golfers get to play D1 golf and it’s below 1% play at a NCAA Tournament level. It’s hard to play any sport at the D1 level but to get a slot with roster limitations and all the changes to NCAA today in Men’s golf is a lot harder than people think. We are extremely blessed and thankful for the opportunity given to AJ . Kennesaw State should have the firepower to play in the NCAA Tournament which only takes the top 25% of D1 golf teams.
