Get To Know our Teaching Team!
Meet Master J. Kim
Did you know that Master J. Kim is a graduate of Yong In University in South Korea? 🇰🇷
Yong In University is well known for its martial arts and sports programs and has produced many elite athletes and Korean national team members.
Master Kim began Taekwondo at the age of six. With his father being a Taekwondo school owner and instructor, you could say he didn’t have much of a choice when it came to starting Taekwondo! 😄 His younger brother also trained in Taekwondo, so Taekwondo was always a big part of his family and childhood.
What started as something he was encouraged to do by his father eventually became a lifelong journey.
Today, Master Kim holds a 6th Dan Black Belt, and Taekwondo has remained a part of his life ever since. Through the years, he has had many opportunities to train, compete, perform demonstrations, teach, and meet many amazing people through Taekwondo.
Looking back, what began when he was just six years old became much more than he ever imagined — it became his passion, his career, and a lifelong journey.
🎥 Here’s a little throwback!
These videos were taken about 6–7 years ago during demonstrations and kicking practice at the dojang.
A lot of practice, repetition, and dedication goes into every technique — and the training never stops! 🥋
Today, Master Kim continues to share his experience and passion for Taekwondo with the students at Master J. Kim’s Taekwondo🩵

One of the reasons Tae Kwon Do is such an important first activity for children has very little to do with kicking and punching.
Over the years, so many children have walked onto the mat shy, unsure of themselves, afraid to speak loudly, afraid to fail, or afraid to try something new.
Then little by little, they change.
They start standing taller.
They begin believing in themselves.
They learn that effort matters more than being perfect.
They realize they are capable of hard things.
Confidence is not something children are simply born with. It’s built through encouragement, consistency, small victories, and learning to overcome challenges.
That’s what Tae Kwon Do is truly about.
Of course students learn how to become strong martial artists. But more importantly, they grow into confident young people who carry themselves with respect, courage, and belief in who they are both on and off the mat.

The black belt journey is not always easy. There are moments of exhaustion, frustration, doubt, and challenges that test both the body and the mind. But that’s what makes earning a black belt so meaningful. It’s a journey built on perseverance, discipline, courage, and the choice to keep moving forward even when things get hard.
Today, we want to recognize our Team S Black Belt Testing Group for the incredible dedication and heart they have shown throughout this journey. This group has trained with focus, pushed through obstacles, supported one another, and continued to grow into strong leaders both on and off the mat. We are so proud of each and every one of them.
We also want to thank the parents and families who have supported these students every step of the way. From rides to class, encouragement after tough days, cheering from the sidelines, and believing in them through the process, this journey would not have been possible without you. Your support truly makes a difference.
Congratulations to Team S on reaching this important milestone. 🥋🔥

Our leadership team spent the afternoon out in the community for our quarterly street cleanup. They picked up trash, helped tidy up the area, and showed real pride in representing our school.
We are so proud of how hard they worked and how willing they are to give back. Great job, team! 🌟🧹
