click here The Coweta County 4-H Archery Club is open to youth age 9 or in 5th grade thru 12th grade.

We start practicing in January and our season ends in May after the 4-H State Match. The kids shoot a wide variety of bows; everything from recurves with no sights to compound bows with all of the bell and whistles to Olympic Style recurves. The Club provides basic equipment for Novice 5th and 6th graders and instruction for all shooting styles and levels of experience. We participate in two 4-H c

What is Project S.A.F.E

Project S.A.F.E. (Shooting Awareness, Fun and Education) is an active program, attractive to youth and adult audiences. The program is curriculum based and designed to assist young people in personal development, establish a personal environmental ethic and explore life-long vocational and avocational activities. The program uses experiential learning and positive interactions with youth and adult role models to help young people develop self-concept, self-assurance and a positive self-image. The program promotes responsibility, decision-making and identifying realistic, personal goals. Participants may elect to compete at a level appropriate for their abilities or pursue other objectives. Participants have shown high achievement in the field, shop or classroom and on target range, but personal development for young people and leaders is the real objective. The program strives to make "every kid a winner," and to "make the best better." Like other 4-H projects, S.A.F.E. has a subject matter base. It has strong links to natural resources, wildlife, outdoor recreation and safety. The content is drawn from sports medicine, psychology, education, biological and physical sciences engineering, mathematics, technology, as well as American traditions, folklore and history. -- Enhance youth development of self-concept, character and personal growth through safe, educational and socially acceptable involvement in shooting activities.

-- To involve youth in a life skills program that teaches safe and responsible use of fi****ms including sound decision-making, self-discipline and concentration.

-- To promote the highest standards of safety, sportsmanship and ethical behavior.

-- To expose participants to the broad array of vocational and life-long avocation activities related to shooting sports.

-- To strengthen families through participation in life-long recreational activities.

-- To complement and enhance the impact of existing safety, shooting and hunter education programs using experiential (hands on) education methods and progressive development of skills and abilities.

No practice this Saturday, please join us at Riverbottom outdoors at 12pm. We will be ordering bows and arrows for those in need of new equipment. There are NO youth bows on site but we can discuss the different options and get pricing. Archery shops do not carry them in the stores due to special requirements for a youth archer.. The driveway is directly across from Heard County Elementary off of Hwy 34. GPS will not take you to the correct spot, it will have you turn before the driveway. This shop is a half a mile in the woods and is a gravel road. This is where we shoot the State 3D tournaments. If you have and questions you can message me.

🍀🍀🍀🍀🏹🏹🏹🏹If you are reading this post you're invited to bring your children to shoot 4H Archery at the Coweta Fairgrounds (4th grade thru-12th grade). Great program for home schooled children. First three classes are free and we have bows on site for childrens use. If you want to stay and shoot its $150 for a year, we shoot all year round but you come and go as you please, we dont expect y'all to make all of the practices but we leave it open for the hardcore shooters. We take days off when the fargrounds are closed but we work through the summer and the school year on Saturday from 10-12pm. Sign up is Friday September 6th, at 6pm at the coweta extension office, I'll provide a link. Come sign the waiver, and join us on Saturdays. Get your child fitted for a youth bow, we have a bowtech on site with portable press and vise and is free for the children. Come learn the art of archery! Brianna and Braden said "the heat doesn't bother us", they just finished a week of band camp and were ready to shoot. 90 degrees outside and these two performed with grace and focus.
