Had lunch at the Galley in Beacon Bay with an old friend.

Reminded me of nights of NSC drunken debauchery then having breakfast at the Galley hungover the morning after.

Anyone remember those days?

Fun reminiscing. Even more fun lived through it.

Merry Christmas friends!

Let's see if we can get together in January.

If not. We'll gather later.

Miss you and love U.

Need your prayers for Don Proper, my friend of 40+ years—he was the Pat's ski buyer. He's a great guy. Appreciate any continued prayers.

Love you and be safe.

From Don.

Not a Newport Ski Company Alumni, but we lost a ski industry legend. I worked for Ed Berghino owner of The Cornice Ski Shop for two years when I lived in Mammoth. Ed was one of those ski legends once you met him, you'd remember him forever.

Here's a testimonial of Ed from his close friend. (Read on)

Farewell old friend. You'll now be in the company of other industry legends in heaven.

I lost one of my best friends for half of my life yesterday. My heart is shattered into a million broken pieces. Eddie was one of my all time favorite people in the world and a world without him is desolate territory. We started as neighbors and became friends. We were polar opposites and yet found so much in common. He yinned and I yanged but we still had so many amazing conversations and great times together. I spent countless times at the house in Mammoth, sometimes 6 times a year and finished the first draft of my novel there. One of my favorite memories was fixing it up together before selling it. It was a bittersweet chapter for him but we had fun picking out tile and paint colors.
Several significant memories are embedded in my mind.
Hundreds of sunsets sitting in the front yard shootin the s**t where Ed would try to pick up every pretty girl that walked by.
The day I took him to the hospital for his Prostate Cancer surgery and the subsequent hard months to follow, but he beat it! A very proud time!
When his sister Vivian died, Ed was crushed, but we got it together and planned her memorial together where I sang her favorite Italian aria.
Going through that and the deaths of his cats Mr Rogers and Me Too were moments when Ed was extremely vulnerable. After Me Too passed, I gave him Tigger for Christmas and I thought Ed might shoot me for that one. Tigger hid under the bed for months, but little by little with Ed’s love, Tigger and he became the best of friends.
I have so many memories racing through my mind right now. The countless nights at Bob’s Big Boy and Twin Dragon.
Christmas morning breakfasts and Panetone. Ed’s blaring of the Mamas & Papas from his car stereo at 7am on several Saturday mornings 🤦‍♂️ 😂
Endless conversations of his ski shop in Mammoth, several things I cant mention here, the Marines (semper phi!) , Tex’s Sporting Goods, The Banshees at Hollywood High, cars cars and more cars talk, the Vette, the Morgan, his Law practice, his sisters Rose & Viv, his parents Bob and Gilda, his countless high school and Marine buddies (who all seemed to be named Bob or Mike), eggs & cream and polenta , his carpentry days at the studios and the list could go on forever.
He got me through many of my own hard times including the death of my husband.
The thing I will cherish the most is how often he said “i love you”. Especially and ironically in the last several months which have been very very hard.
I loved him like a father, grandfather, brother and best friend and will forever hold him close to my heart.
Today a hummingbird floated in front of me it seemed for an inordinate amount of time and for that I say thanks for the visit Eddie.
Rest now soldier with your family of angels. Love you man. More than you ever knew, but now you do. 💔💔💔

Never fun saying goodbye to an old friend. And today was no exception. Today we celebrated Terry Fisher's life.

Terry was a family man, loving his daughters fiercely, loved Julie and was loved by everyone that knew him. Terry was also a Veit Nam war Vet, serving in artillery.

The American legion post in Newport Beach was a packed house with the who's who of ski industry legends.

Truly a fitting send off for such a wonderful friend. So great to see the turnout of industry dignitaries from close and far away. Great to see everyone after all these years.

Too bad Terry couldn't be there to enjoy his friends one last time.

Today was the gold standard, tribute of a wonderful human.

We're all blessed to know, Terry and be at this tribute.

Saturday night was a blur.
So many wintersports friends from the past, present and in between. Reps, ski shop owners, shop employees, buyers from many stores, friends, family, loved ones of Terry Fisher's and of course our Newport Ski Company family. What an assembly of legends.
The largest, certainly the most esteemed gathering of friends to date.
All gathered to celebrate our friend, Terry Fisher.
Fun, surreal, what a fun evening was had. So many legends all coming together.
The smiles tell all. There was so much love all centered around one man, Terry Fisher and the passion we shared back during ski's hay day.
What a blessed moment.
Love you friends.
If you didn't make it, you missed a good one.

Friends of Fisher update.

Terry's daughter Kaylee is planning a celebration of life for Terry on May 11th (Terry's birthday) More details to come as they're announced.

In the meantime the NSC family is planning their own Friends of Fish send-off in the near future.

Since Terry is known and loved by so many, my plans are to expand this celebration to Reps, other industry friends as well as our NSC family.

Spread the news and tell your friends that knew, Terry.

Stay tuned for details and announcements.

We say farewell to another friend, father, brother and great human. Terry Fisher passed yesterday from pneumonia.

We're all better knowing and sharing Terry's infectious zeal for life with his loved ones and friends. Such a blessing to know, Terry and call him friend.

Prayers and hugs to Terry's loved ones.

Cheers and aloha old friend...

Last night was a hoot. Possibly one of the funnest modern day NSC gatherings.

Plenty of pints, platters of nachos and a few spilled bevies. Plus endless banter, laughter and love. In my book that's the benchmark of a fun night out.

Gary and Gini showed up in their '70 pink VW bus. Even JR made an appearance and helped peg the fun meter.

So wonderful to get together with friends and share laughter and banter. Even greater that these friendships came about because we all shared a similar bond which was Newport Ski Company and a zeal for always pinning the fun meter.

So much fun.

Love you guys.
