There’s plenty of good rugby on this weekend, and the high school season is going strong. Happy rugby weekend, everyone

This weekend we have three referees representing us at Girls High School Nationals in Salt Lake City, and three more referees taking part in WER matches.

A large part of NERRS’s mission is the development of referee coaches, and fostering a strong rugby community. We celebrated that at our banquet as we recognized the notable contributions of our referees, many of whom have been active referees and coaches for over 10, 25, and even 50 years. Their experience and dedication to our society and the broader rugby community are invaluable.
Additonally, we were joined by two visiting CMOs. Lee Bryant and Richard Every took part in the weekend, sharing their extensive knowledge with both our referees and coaches. A special thank you to them and their partners for being here and helping to make the weekend such a success. All of these CMO development opportunities were made possible by funding from the Peter Watson Memorial Fund.

We hosted our annual NERRS Banquet this past weekend during NERFU Cup. A traditional part of this is our awards cereomony, in which we recognize the accomplishments and dedication of our referees. We had seven well-deserving award winners this year, in addition to four referees receiving grade promotions. Congratulations to everyone, we are proud to have you as part of our society and look forward to seeing all that you do in the coming year.

It’s exciting to have men and women’s professional rugby in our backyard, and to have our referees participating in such great competition. Go well to Milli and Sam as they take on the sideline for their respective matches this weekend.

A great weekend ahead of high school matches and the always-anticipated NERFU Cup! We’re excited to see so many NERFU teams and NERRS referees come together for a great tournament.

Exciting things happening this weekend with both Atlantic Super Regionals and the opening weekend of Women’s Elite Rugby taking place.

Multiple NERRS referees head to Niagara to take part in matches that will see the winning teams advance to Nationals later this month. Closer to home, Morgan and Geoff will be ARs in the Banshee’s home opener.

It’s a massive weekend in college rugby, with the men’s national championships playing out this weekend in Indiana. We’re thrilled to see Amelia, Josh, and Diego representing NERRS across a stacked weekend of high-level competition. All three of them have been awarded championships matches. Congratulations to these referees, and go well 👏🏻
