Q: What were the conditions during the weekend?
Q: What challenges did you face?
Q: How did you adjust your game to meet those challenges?

The USMMA Offshore Sailing Team earned a strong second-place finish at the McMillan Cup this past weekend at the U.S. Naval Academy.

The McMillan Cup is the oldest collegiate sailing event in the country and one of the top three intercollegiate offshore regattas each year.

This result qualifies the team for the Kennedy Cup, the National Championship for Collegiate Offshore Sailing, taking place in two weeks.

Proud to represent Kings Point. Next stop, the Kennedy Cup.

Shields Trophy Regatta Recap โ€“ USMMA Offshore Sailing

What a weekend in Annapolis! Our Offshore Sailing Team finished 2nd overall at the Shields Trophy Regatta, just behind College of Charleston.

But the big news โ€” we brought home the Shields Trophy, awarded to the highest-placing Service or Maritime Academy. ๐Ÿ†

That means USMMA outsailed Navy, Coast Guard, SUNY Maritime, Mass Maritime, Maine Maritime, and Army to earn this honor. As the Notice of Race states:
โ€œThe Shields Trophy: the best overall performance of a Service or Maritime Academy team.โ€

Weโ€™re proud of the fight, teamwork, and focus our midshipmen showed on the water. This is a strong start to our fall season, and the momentum is only building.

Check out some highlights.
