A wet summer elevates brookie territory to fantasy realm status! I've done a ton of prospecting recently and been revisiting many old favorite streams. This 13" brookie has been the gem as of late.

It had been more than 1½ years since the last time I nabbed a wild tiger; had the privilege of ending that streak today! Truly the cherry on top of an incredible outing with brookies and browns in a frenzy. And even at 90° above the surface, the stream has yet to break 63.

A slew of species on the Alabama coast this week. Even broke out the 7wt on a calm day and nabbed some heinous looking needlefish and a specked seatrout. I had tried all sorts of streamers to no avail. On a whim, I switched to the biggest dry fly I had in my trout box -a chubby chernobyl- and started stripping it like a gurgler; they were rising ferociously! Also nabbed ladyfish, sand seatrout, pinfish, pigfish, whiting and cats on the spinning gear. Looking forward to hitting the open seas tomorrow morning!
